Purchase: I got this club directly from Adams 1-800 number back in 1999. I paid $125 for it. I got it because I wanted a club that would be good for reaching long par 5's into the wind. I also wanted this club to hit off the tee when hitting in narrow fairways.
Pros: The club is durable and build like a rock. It is not fragile and will not break.
Cons: When I first got the club, I was a 7 handicap and couldn't hit this club with any good trajectory and in fact, could hit my 5 tight lies wood a lot further than this 3 wood. I contributed not being able to hit the 3 wood because of my 7 handicap. Now I'm a plus handicap and I still can't hit it. This is because the head feels like a heavy pancake. It's not balanced right. It's almost impossible to hit it from a low placed tee. The face is dead. I can hit my taylor made bubble driver with much more accuracy than this 3 wood. I routinely hit my driver well over 300 yards, however the furthest I ever hit this 3 wood is 250 yards. This is because this club does not get the ball airborne. The ball comes off this club very low about 8 feet off the ground, in fact even much lower than my 10.5 degree taylor made bubble driver.
Quality: The parts of this golf club are heavy-duty and well made, but the physics of this golf club are poor.

Review Summary: The strong 3 wood doesn't perform nearly as good as the tight lies 5 wood. If you need a good 3 wood, use the taylor made 300 series or 300 tour. I got the 3 wood when I ordered the 5 wood as I thought was a special deal. I was mistaken.
