Details: Nice chrome-like finish to the clubs makes them look nicer than the cheap $200.00 price tag.
Purchase: I needed to replace a set of olf Titleist blades that I was playing with for much too long. I paid $200.00 from Dick's sporting goods for 4-LW. I tried a number of other clubs in the same price range (both new and used), and I hit these the most consistently. I even tried a used set of Callaway X-14s, and these were much more forgiving. Pros: Nice large sweet spot keeps my irons straight and reduces the number of bad shots I hit each round. I have never hit my longs irons as well as I have with these clubs. I have even began to use my 4-iron off the tee with much greater success than my driver. Well hit shots deliver a nice *ping* sound to let you know you really got into it. Cons: Cheap grips leave black residue all over my hands after 18 holes or a few buckets at the range. I assume this will require me to invest in more gloves or new grips. Quality: The quality of the clubs that Adams makes is good from top to bottom, I am very pleased with these clubs. Review Summary: Great starter set or upgrade set from old clubs. Great for high handicappers! On 2007-06-08, James Baudolino rated this Adams Ovation 2 a 5...(7798)
Details: 4-LW, True Temper steel shaft.
Purchase: Purchased at Dick's Sporting Goods for $199. I was looking for something with newer technology and to improve my short game and I heard alot of good things about Adams Golf. There's not alot of information regarding these irons so I called Adams Golf and found out these irons are made specifically for Dick's Sporting Goods. Pros: The first thing I noticed was how easy and far I was hitting the ball in the simulator room, about 30-40 yards longer than my current set. This seemed strange to me so I brought my clubs to Dick's and compared...sure enough I was hitting the ball 'alot' longer, this only applied to 4-9 irons, PW-LW stayed the same. However the true test was acutally playing on a real course, after 4 rounds it looks like the new irons added about 10-15 yards and I was hitting the ball straighter, so needless to say I was still pretty happy. Cons: I didn't like the grips and a few of them were aligned improperly so I replaced them with something a little softer. Quality: Overall quality is excellent. Very nice looking clubs. Review Summary: Ultimately I was looking for the most bang for the buck and I believe I found it with these irons. I would definitely recommend these clubs to anyone who is trying to do the same.
