On 2002-08-14, John rated this Adams Tight Lies i-Wood a 5...(398)

Purchase: I heard great things about the Adams Tight Lies i-wood and was looking for a utility club, which I managed to find at RSH. They were on sale, and got it for equivalent to US$130. I found that i-woods were selling out fast at that price as I hesitated at my first visit to the shop when 20 clubs were available to find only 5 left, 2 days later.
Pros: Got the 21 loft to support my 3 iron. Shots are consistent and controllable in length, and feel is great in all conditions. Learning to shape shots its easier than on my irons. I'm a high handicapper, having played for only 2 months, once a week, but I managed to score my first birdie on a 420metre par-5 thanks to the i-wood.
Cons: Nothing. The shots from i-wood has helped to bring me within 1 over par on average in 2 months after picking up the game.
Quality: Build quality is excellent, and it stands out against my Callaway Big Bertha irons. Adam's website was useful in providing information on club selection and decription of the current model.

Review Summary: Dependable club I can trust which has rescued scores and gets me out of jail free. Will change the rest of my set as my game develops but not the i-wood.

Purchase: I purchased this club at the Ames Golf USA store. I was just looking at the products and the i-wood caught my eye. I then saw that it was on sale and purchased it for 100$'s.
Pros: I love the feel you get from the club and how you can actually feel your shots. You get both distance and accuracy with the special shaft. I get great responses from this club and I think it is easy to shape your shots.
Cons: This club isn't the most consistant. I can usually shape my shots but sometimes i would hook or slice it horrible (maybe it was just me)
Quality: The club has been very durable for me and it hits like the day I bought it. I love the special shaft combination of the graphite and iron. The fact that it can replace your high irons is great for high-handicap players.

Review Summary: This club is great for high and mid-handicap players who aren't great with their irons. I love it.
