On 2005-11-25, Rob rated this Advanced Golf Technology Aurora 9.5* a 5...(6439)

Purchase: Purchased just the head from an individual for $95. I shafted it with a Grafalloy Prolaunch 75 shaft because I heard that it was a low spin head and had a lower launch angle. I tend to hit the ball lower, so it seemed like a great choice.
Pros: Great size for a driver. 445cc head, but hides the size very well. Very soft feeling off the face. Feels soft, but the ball absolutely rockets off. Awesome sound when struck and the ball really hangs in the air a long time. Great trajectory from this loft/shaft combo. Also really love the fact that the face is dead square and not closed. Beautiful finish just like the fairway woods. Deep merlot color that looks wet.
Cons: The bore depth of the head is very deep. It is nearly a bore through as it is around 2" deep. I had to go a flex lower to get the shaft to play correct to flex. Also, the sweet spot on this driver is slightly above the center of the face. If you hit it there, the club will amaze you. If you don't, you will not see much difference between this driver and others. I guess I expected a bit more help from a driver this size. They mention this on their website, but you have to tee the ball high to take full advantage of the head. I'm a pretty consistant ball striker, so it wasn't really a problem hitting it in the right spot.
Quality: Quality is nothing but top notch and it is made in the U.S. which is always good. Like mentioned earlier, the paint is absolutely gorgeous. Really inspires confidence at address.

Review Summary: Steve at AGT doesn't have the advertising budget like a Taylor Made or Callaway and relies on reviews like this and word of mouth to sell his clubs. If you read other reviews as well as this one, you will see that these clubs are just flat amazing. This is an awesome driver and will definitely make you a believer once you hit it. Extremely long and easy to hit. Great sound and a wonderfull soft feeling off the face. Work with Steve at AGT to get the right shaft in it for you and you will give up your current driver for this one.
