On 2004-09-22, Alien comes through again. rated this Alien Driving Iron a 4...(4439)

Purchase: I bought this thing on Ebay for $10.50 in 2004. I love Alien golf equipment. Pat Simmons is a genius - daring and radical, his clubs are first-rate.
Pros: I have a complete set of Alien clubs. I have also purchased the Alien 2 sand wedge (indespensable anywhere withing 100 yards of the green). The alien driving iron has only been in my bag for about a month and I have not been to the driving range with it yet. I have been using my orlimar tri-metal for shots 150 yards or so, but I am sure the driving iron would be good for it. It is a little difficult for me off of the tee so I would probably use the Orlimar. However, if you have a nasty slice like me and you find yourself trapped between rows of trees a few times per game, the alien driving iron is a good club to punch out with a low trajectory, precise and straight, I can get it through some tricky spots by choking up a little. This is preferable to giving up and putting it back onto the fairway directly to your left. I like the looks of this club too - weird. I like using my alien stuff against my friends Ping and Calloway stuff and out-shooting the for accuracy and distance.
Cons: I wish the sweet spot were a little bigger. I am spoiled like most people by the new larger clubs. The shaft is long (hence DRIVING iron) and if you use it to punch out, you will want to choke up a bit. The club feels a little light as well.
Quality: Solid and well designed, like all alien products.

Review Summary: I love alien golf and the alien driving iron is no exception. While it doesn't get as much use as the alien sand wedge, it has it's own strengths. If you are an alien fan, you should just get one, they are cheap and cool looking.
