Purchase: I first bought a few dozen for about a dollar a piece at a local golf convention then bought a bucket for 50 dollars at Golf Galaxy. I visited the site at http://www.almostgolfball.com/.
Pros: Let's face we will hit practice golf balls versus golf balls in play about 1000 to one. So the easier that it is to practice the better. I have a small park across from my house and hit up to 4 iron with no problem, depending on the wind. I hit every day before I go in. They draw, and fade like a golf ball and don't break windows. I know my neighbors are getting tired of picking my loose shots out of their gardens and lawns to say nothing of my going in to their yards to fetch them...but it make us gets together. They are light years better than wiffle and plastic balls (which I still use on occasion) They sit up on grass that makes hitting down on the ball easy without taking a divot out of your lawn. They float and are easy to get up in the air.
Cons: At a buck a ball I don't like to lose them. We have unmowed brown Zoysia in the park and it can really hide a ball. Orange is bad in the fall. And they get dirty easily. Also they are lighter and are more susceptible to the wind. They also leave a ball on windshields of my neighbors it they hit them. They are useless for learning distances of your clubs or rolls for chips.
Quality: They don't wear like golf balls and can scuff up after a hundred or so hits. And they get dirty.

Review Summary: This is the ultimate in practice balls. I recommend them highly for those who have about 40 yards to spare and can't get to a driving range. Also great for working out swing changes before you go to the range.
