On 2008-10-30, DON rated this Alpha C-830-4 a 5...(8215)

Details: 10.5* lost. two shafts, different kick points

Purchase: Got it to try it out, see if the idea is worth while
Pros: Being able to change the shaft at will, is pretty nice. The shaft in a driver is very important, more so than the head in many ways, so being able to change the shaft comes in handy. Very nice looking head design
Cons: The head requires a shaft adapter which is 6 sided piece of material. Would be much better if it was 12 sided rather than 6.
Quality: Quality is very good. Alpha makes some very good drivers and they are being used for long drive competition, so you know they're good quality.

Review Summary: If you are looking for a driver but don't know about the shaft, or have two shafts you like, this head will allow you to change out the shaft, or try a new one anytime you want. Callaway has the same thing now. Not cheap, but could be worth it. Can play a low flight shaft on windy days if you want, which could be a real nice benefit.
