On 2005-03-25, DON rated this Bag Boy SC-500 Push Cart a 4...(5259)

Purchase: Purchased two of them from Colorado Ski&Golf for $60.00 each. I was thinking of getting a push cart and when I found these on sale, I spent the money.
Pros: I purchased this model because, for one thing, it was lighter than the other models I looked at. Plus the front wheel comes off with the flip of a lever, for easy storage and transport. The tires are filled with foam, so they will never go flat, like an air fill tire might.
Cons: There are a few poor design points. #1:The bottle holder is right under the place you put your tees. If you put tees in the holes for them, they get in the way of the water bottle. #2: the score card platform is smaller than the score card, so you can't write on the card without supporting the card with your other hand. Could have make it a little longer and solved this if they had just tested the product one time. #3: I hate it when the bag twists on the cart. This model has two places where the bag rests that support the bag. One bracket adjusts to better hold the bag still, the other one doesn't. It would be much better if both brackets adjusted to hold the bag and prevent the bag from twisting in use. #4: with a pull cart, I can fit two golf bags in the trunk of the car without taking the bags off the carts. With the push carts, you have to take the bag off the cart to fit them in the trunk. One more hassle to live with. Pull cart and bag fits in the passenger side of my pickup, push cart and bag does not. Minor problem, but if you only have a pickup to drive, worth considering.
Quality: I have no complaints about the quality of the cart, just a few design issues need to be changed. Maybe that's one reason it's a discontinued model?

Review Summary: For the price I paid, it's a good push cart. And I do like a push cart better on the course than the pull cart I had before. The only negative is that the push cart takes up more room in the house when you're not out playing golf. With two of us playing golf, the equipment takes up enough space, now it just got worse. We need a serparate room just for golf equipment.
