On 2003-04-23, Kai rated this Bang Mellow Yellow 10.5* driver a 5...(1173)

Purchase: Purchased on the internet for $69 as a component head and assembled it myself with a penley shaft.
Pros: The club hits far longer and straighter than anything else that I have tried (TM R360 Japan version, Cleveland Launcher, Integra heads, Titleist 975D, Cobra SS 370 Japan version, etc.) I also have a Bang 450 and the Mellow Yellow hits straighter...The face also acts like impact tape and lets you know where you hit the ball on every shot. The Penley shaft also matches perfectly with it's black color and yellow bands, which are the exact color of the head. The only other shaft that I believe matches nicely are the Harrison yellow colored shafts. The color always attracts others to inquire what kind of club it is, and the price of the club can't be beat. Best value and quality for your money. I also have the matching 3 and 5 woods as well...
Cons: The Mellow Yellow driver tends to hit a little on the high side, similar to the TM 360 drivers. But you do need a high launch angle and lots of carry if you want more distance...Either you like the loud color or you don't...
Quality: Outstanding quality and construction. I have hit the club many times and the head holds up well to scratches. Looks the same or better than many OEM manufacturers, which probably use the same overseas foundries anyway.

Review Summary: Again, best value, distance, and accuracy for the money. Since the head is relatively inexpensive compared to many OEM models, it is an affordable way to test out a new driver that could change the way you play the game...
