Purchase: Component head purchased from M&M Golf $69. Wanted to try something new and different and this huge bright yellow head was beckoning to be tried.
Pros: After installing the Harrison yellow low launch classic shaft at 45", I hit my first tee shot just shy of 300 yds. and straight down the middle of the fairway. There wasnt a loud tinny noise that is usually associated with larger heads and the ball just jumped off the face. Other than my ceramic woods this is the longest club I have ever hit. I have had 3 shoulder operations and was still hitting this at times around 330 yds.It helped me drop my Hcp from a 14 to an 8 in one short season.
Cons: Early into the next season my drives suddenly were not getting any distance. Lucky to get 200 yds on a dead center hit. These were checked with special face tape to check the hitting patterns. I could not figure out what was going wrong and suspected that the structure was deteriorating although at the time there were no signs on the outside. One day after a hit, the top of the toe area finally sucked right in. Apparently the structure had been compromised due to the size. I do not abuse my clubs and the ball did not strike the top of the club so this is not to blame. Because of the length of time I had the club, I pretty much had to eat the loss.
Quality: Newer version has moved the paint line back from the top of the hitting face because the paint was getting chipped too easily. Has a very solid feel until it caves in. Explosive distance while it lasts.

Review Summary: I know that many other OEM clubs have come to my shop over the years with the faces caved in and that is due to foundry flaws when packing the molds. If I purchased another Mellow Yellow head I may not have any more problems but even with the great distance I was getting , I do not know if I would like to take the risk.

Went to the range yesterday to practice. Took the new 9.5* driver to test it out. I hit it a lot better than I figured I would with that factory insta
