Purchase: I won a box of these playing in a local tournament. There had been a lot of ads hyping this ball and I was eager to give them a try.
Pros: This ball definitely is long. Not noticeably more than ProV1's, but a little bit. Nice bite into the greens with them as you would expect. They launch off the driver at a very high launch angle for added carry.
Cons: The cover generates a lot of spin into the greens, but it seems to be at the cost of durability. Short irons and especially wedges cause these balls to scuff & "shred." You can play one for a whole round, but probably will want to use it for practice after that.
Quality: The performance of this ball is up there with everything else in this price category. The durability, or lack thereof, of the cover, is certainly a distractor. For what they want for a box of these they should heal themselves!

Review Summary: A ball with great shot-making performance. For the money, I'd rather go with a ProV1 or even Precept U-Tri tour. They last a lot longer and give the same level of performance.

Purchase: bought at golf clearance sale, at Broadlands golf. paid $28.00 & couldn't pass them up @ that price!
Pros: i have tried just about every ball made today. i love the feel, distance & accuracy of these. i get a big smile on my face every time i'm playing hard greens because nothing else bites like these little darts.i don't know how many matches i've won with the Hogans, but this is what i want in my bag when i'm playing league golf!
Cons: the early Hogans scuffed pretty easy, with my Cleveland raw wedges.
Quality: i think that since Hogan made these balls less prone to scuffing, that they equal the prov's in durability & distance & beat them in green holding (drop & stop).

Review Summary: i think that for the average guy, who doesn't earn a paycheck playing golf, you won't find a better golfball.

Purchase: I'm a 6 hdcp. Was curious to try the ball from the commercials. Started looking at proshops but they were too expensive. So looked on Ebay and found them way cheaper at around $25 a dozen. I recommend getting the 'Practice' balls since they're about $17 a dozen on Ebay and they're allowed by the USGA and are the same ball except for minute flaws which you can't see anyway. I've played both and can't tell the difference.
Pros: Exceptional soft feel, better than ProV1, in my opinion. V1 is too hard. Exceptional distance, explodes off driver, just as long if not longer than ProV1 and just as long as distance balls like Titleist Tour Distance which I've used recently.
Cons: Only thing don't like is that it scuffs way too easily, at least off the irons I have which are Cleveland TA7 tours. Might just be due to the fact the irons are new, don't know. But very lucky to play 9 holes with the same ball. Pro's can afford this, but not me.
Quality: Quality is exceptional as well as construction, except for easy scuff cover.

Review Summary: This would be the Ball to End all Balls if the cover was more durable.

Purchase: Purchsed a sleeve at Roger Dunn's in Cathedral City Calif. $7.00
Pros: I had heard and read (on this site)how the ball functioned. I went and bought a sleeve myself and had to find out.. Incredible action,Incredible length, Incredible feel...Ball is absolutley unreal. You can bomb it, draw it, cut it, spank it...It does it all. Right out of the box I threw a 67 at Mission Hills, Pete Dye Challenge. Greens arent even that good right now..110 degees off season. I have played the Nike line from the TW, The ONE, THE SPIN , and the Etc. Never again. I am about a 1 to a 2 Handicap right now. I have found a ball that is yes, a lil expensive but so is a Prov 1 or the balls I mentioned before. When you lie awake at night and think about the 4 hole strtetch that you birdied in a row..I never thought about price. You wont either!!
Cons: After about 4 holes..I did notice a slight discoloration . A mild yellow color. I am assuming from the grass? I read that this can happen. On a side note I had heard of scuffing, tearing and that the ball was not durable. I did not find this to be the case at all.. Played 18 with 2 balls from the sleeve.
Quality: Excellent...

Review Summary: I have found the ball that I will be playing with for a long , long time. The next ball I play would have to be something so revolutionizing to get me to play it. Bottom line? Hogan is not paying me dime to say any of this...Im not one to give praise when it is not due..This ball is the real thing..

Purchase: The first time I ever used these balls were when a friend gave them to me. I do not know the exact price.
Pros: I love the feel of these balls. They are very soft, but still get great distance. also they tend to spin a fair amount. Also the Hogans seem to get a lot of roll.
Cons: I don't like how if you miss the center of the ball they won't go straight, fade, draw, etc. and they won't go to far if you don't hit them good.
Quality: These four piece ball (yes four) are of high quality. They have a ver thin cover and are very areodynamic.

Review Summary: Love em'

Purchase: $24.50 at New Jersey Golf Exhibition ($39 normal price at local pro shop). Was switching between Nike Tour Accuracy TW and Pro V1 and decided to give these a try due to the sale price.
Pros: This ball really performs. Both the Nike TW and Pro V1 were great balls: the TW has great spin, but I felt distance was lacking somewhat. The Pro V1 really had no cons, and I thought I'd be using it for the forseeable future. Now, though, I think I may make a permanent swith to the Hogan. I got about 5-10 more yards off the tee with the Hogan and still had the exceptional spin and feel of the Pro V1. I was really impressed with the way even long iron shots would check-up on the green. Approach shots that might normally leave me with a downhill putt were now checking up below the hole or pin-high. The feel arond the greens was just as good as the Pro V1 if not better. I have also been reading about people cutting and shredding the cover. While I'm not a scratch golfer (8 handicap), I didn't find the ball tearing any more than any other ball typically would.
Cons: No dislikes. This ball performed incredibly well and will be in my bag from now on.
Quality: Solid construction. The ball did cut a little but not enough for major concern.

Review Summary: Great ball. I would recommend to anyone.

Purchase: Edwin Watts was the first shop in the area to receive the new ball. I paid $42
Pros: I am a 7.4 handicap and am of average length. I had been playing the tour accuracy for over a year. I had tried the Pro V but lost about a half a club off the irons. The Hogan ball is about a half club longer off the irons than the Nike and I picked up a good 10 - 12 yards off the driver. An oddity was that I picked up 10 - 15 yards on my three wood. The ball has a very soft feel around the greens and seems to spin a bit more than the Nike going into the green.
Cons: I like the ball but it is a bit costly. I do not care for the cover of the ball. The color is a very dull white compared to other balls. The cover is not as durable as it could be, as it scuffs easily.
Quality: I must have received some of the very early production run. The printing on the ball was not perfect.

Review Summary: Overall it is the best ball for my game to date.

Purchase: I heard through the grapevine that at the SEI classic which was a PGA Tour event near my home, that the driving range had 3 different brands of balls-Titliest,Precept and Ben Hogan Apex Tour and alot of pros were hitting them. Being a fan of Hogan equipment I quickly and at very high speeds drove to my local club. I begged the pro to order, "oh please order these balls I heard about" as I begged and pleaded he walked with me to a tall stack of black boxes that had his famous signature on it, Ben Hogan. I bought 3 dozen at a good price-&39.90/doz.- because he wanted me out of the shop-I was invoking stares and murmers. Four days later the stack was half gone and fellow members were raving about the performance of this ball.
Pros: I placed my first Apex Tour Ball on the tee and hit it just as far as the Maxfli Revolution I had played the week before. The feeling was great, the term "it felt like butter" comes to mind. My next shot was a 4 iron into a medium size green. I pured it and the ball flew the perfect height for me and stopped. Thats right, stopped! Time to putt but I had no clue how hard to hit it or what it felt like. I hit the ball firmly with my Scotty Cameron and I knew I had the golden orb. Soft with spin and long off the tee.
Cons: The only thing wrong with these balls is they are a bit pricey. You should take the time and search for a deal. They are worth every penny to me but others may find them too high in price.
Quality: The ball takes a pretty good lickin before it shows signs of wear. Hit a cart path and you'll see it but other than those unplanned obstacles it holds up well. The quality and construction are terrific.

Review Summary: All in all it'll be a long time before I purchase another ball beside the Ben Hogan Apex Tour Ball. It has everything I want in a golf ball. Like I stated earlier they are soft with spin and long off the tee. In fact they are as long as any distance ball I've used. I know my home course and I'm alot further on down the fairway than I ever have been before. As far as playability is concerned I truly believe these are the best golf balls made to date.

Purchase: I acquired my Ben Hogan Apex Tour golf balls from Nevada Bobs golf store and paid approximately $41 with tax for them. The reason I bought the golf balls was because last Christmas I purchased the Hogan Apex Plus irons with steel shafts and just fell in love with them and likewise became a big fan of Hogan products, therefore when I saw that Hogan had put a golf ball on the market I just had to try it.
Pros: I just love the soft feel of the golf ball, when you hit them you just can't believe the soft feel. Now I'm a pretty long hitter and what shocked me even more was how far the ball traveled. I've played harder balls before that would give you more distance but not the feel. However since my game has improved and I was hitting the ball a ton anyway, I thought it would be better to start playing a better performance golf ball which would hold the green better unlike those harder balls, but I must say that the Hogan goes just as far as those other balls if not farther with more feel.
Cons: The only thing that I don't like about the ball is that the cover is not as durable as some of the other golf balls and therefore once I get to really hammering the ball, the cover starts to peel a bit. I think that is because the cover is made of Urethane which is softer than the typical covers being used today by most golf ball manufacturers.
Quality: As stated before the Hogan Apex Tour is a great golf ball, however i find it to be not as durable as most of your golf balls on the market today. Because it has a softer cover. Then again I have a higer swing speed than most people I play with, which is between 105-108mph so that could contribute to the ball being damage more easily.

Review Summary: I would definitely purchase these golf balls again. I found them to be longer and softer than the Pro V1 and longer than the harder golf balls such as the NXT Tour, NXT Distance, Top flight 2000/3000 xL, and softer than any other golf ball such as the Strata, Pinnacle, Slazenger or most of your Balata balls.

Purchase: It was a teenager too lazy or embarrassed to go after his first tee shot into my ninth fairway that gave me my introduction to the new Hogan Apex Tour ball that appeared to be struck exactly once. I put it away until a round or two later. I'd seen the commercials where some pros say "You've never played a ball like this" and I admit I was intrigued. I should also mention that I play Hogan Apex blades which have made me a forged player again and forever.
Pros: I ended up using that ball most of the day, which is an indicator that I was striking it well that day, so my review may be somewhat tainted. That said, I think this might be the best ball I've ever played, and I will buy a dozen. They are pricey, and it won't be my everyday ball, but when it matters I will pull it out again. It's my first impression, and I should say that favorite ball to date had been the ProVI, and I've had much more experience with the ProVI. Both are first rate in the feel department and both stop very quickly on the green. What I like about the ProVI is that it goes where I point it, good or bad, and it checks up very fast on the greens. I don't have the skill to draw it backwards, except by accident, but it stops very near where it lands without hopping forward 3 or 4 yards like a distance ball. There are several balls that do that, but it costs you 10 yards or more in driving distance whereas the ProVI somehow gets me an extra 10 off the tee, too. Not as much as some of the distance balls, but still a bonus 10 yards or so over most of the balls I've played and maybe 20 more than the high spin balls. The Hogan does all this, but driving distance is very close to a good distance ball. It jumps off the face and asks to be hit harder. I feel it fair to say that your approaches will be a full club shorter with the Hogan over the ProVI.
Cons: I've read about scuffing by a scratch player here, but did not notice it with my 10 handicap. I did notice a slight yellowing before I finally lost the ball late in the round, but it's rare I have in play as long as I did this particular day.
Quality:

Review Summary: I loved this ball, and my next purchase of a premium ball will be these.

Purchase: pro shop @$40
Pros: compared to ProV1, slightly firmer feel, comparable distance, and spin
Cons: POOR cover durability...shred when hit with wedges
Quality: poor durability of cover, shreds like STRATAS(?same manufacturer)when hit with wedges

Review Summary: performance similar to Pro V1, but cover durability is POOR, making it necessary to change balls every 1-2 holes...who can afford that? I can play the same Pro V1 for several ROUNDS!!!
