Purchase: Purchased at Target for $40. Pros: Ball jumps off the club face, but still allowed you to work the ball. Ball react very well & is easy to control. Power & Control. Better than the PRO-V1. Cons: The $40 price, but is still cheaper than the PRO-V1. Quality: Very durable. Review Summary: Great product. Better than PRO-V1 for about $5 less.

Purchase: Balls were purchased for $36.00 a dozen at year end closeout sale from local public course. Pros: The Ben Hogan Apex Tour is a great ball. I had been playing the Nike Tour Accuracy TW all year long, but didn't feel I was getting the distance I should have been so I thought I'd try the Hogan ball. The Hogan ball was 15 yards longer off the tee (just like the TV ads) with about the same distance with the irons. The Hogan ball didn't spin as much as the Nike ball but still stopped with the long shots (e. g. 4-iron from 200 yards to the green pithced 10 - 12 ft. from ball mark)and was great around the greens, especially putting. Cons: The ball is not the most durable in the world. I did play 36 holes with this ball but will probably retire it to the shag bag. The price is a little high (except for the fact that I got these on sale) but exactly the same as the Pro V1. Quality: The construction seems fine and quality is very high. Review Summary: This is a great ball. I haven't played the Pro V1, but think the Hogan ball has to be right there with it. On 2002-08-12, barassie rated this Ben Hogan Apex Tour Ball a 3...(392)
Purchase: Golf Galaxy Minneapolis $50 Pros: This ball is great. It goes like a Top Rock, spins like balata, and feels like nothing on earth. It's a great golf ball. Cons: And would be my ball of choice were it not for the fact that they tear up. I am a scratch golfer. I use MP 33's and recently was using about a ball a hole. Every time I put a club on it - well struck, solid shots -the ball marked up. Maybe I got a bad batch - but at these prices I can't afford to experiment! Quality: Ist class appearance and construction. Major durability issue. Review Summary: Great ball. Terrible durability. On 2002-08-03, F.E rated this Ben Hogan Apex Tour Ball a 5...(349)
Purchase: I paid 50 $ for one dozen.
Ever since i heard about i wanted to try the it out. One of my friends purchased it for me. Pros: The ball goes about further 20 yards further of tee than other balls i use and it has a nice feel .Usually balls are choosen by your handicap, swingspeed, gender or the average lenght of your shot.
But this one can be used everyone!
The ball delivers uncompromised performance wich makes the price a bit more fair. Cons: The only bad thing about it is the price (50 bucks per doz) Quality: The ball has 350 dimples and a very thin cover. Its compression is 78.
The quality is good and the ball last´s longer than for example Callaway HX and other thin cover balls. Review Summary: This ball is the most complete ball on the market so everyone can play nice with it.
You can hit the distance of HX red and chip the ball like it was HX blue.
It gives you a ball that is worth the money. And you don´t have to buy a new type of ball as you get a lower or higher handicap.
