Details: Stiff flex, 8.5*
Purchase: I got this club at my local pro shop. The original price, I believe, was $400.00. I paid about $100.00 on sale. It was brand new. Pros: I loved the weighting of this club. It was very light. Cons: The head is way too big. I'm not at all used to the larger heads. I like the size of my driver to be big, but when it gets past 400cc it's too big because I don't know how high to tee the ball. On the 1st tee, using this club on the course for the 1st time, I teed the ball way too high and the result was a skyed shot to the left. I teed the ball up again on the 1st tee for a 2nd shot with the same result. On the 2nd tee I would up using my 3 wood as my driver from that point on. I played a really horrible round of golf that time, even lost all 12 of my balls. I traded it in for a Titleist 983K, 9.5*, stiff flex driver at the same store with much better results! The Titleist 983K gives me the confidence I want, has a large head, but allows me to still tee the ball a little lower to the ground than the Ben Hogan driver. I would have shot a 75 that day if it wasn't for my putting. I lost 3 balls that day, 2 in the water on the 10th hole, but other than that it was a great round for not having played in 5 years. Quality: The Ben Hogan driver is a top quality club but the head was too big for me. My confidence was high on the 1st tee but quickly lost never to be found again with this club after my tee shot. Review Summary: Great club, just wasn't right for me. Compare this club with a Titleist 983K like I did before you make a final decision. You can buy a used Titleist 983K for about $100.00, same price you'll pay for this driver.

Purchase: I had a used C-S3 in mind to buy. Knowing of the problem of counterfeit clubs of various manufacturers on the market, I contacted the Ben Hogan company asking for a way to identify a counterfeit C-S3. The e-mailed response indicated there are no known counterfeit Hogans. That gave me the confidence to look on e-Bay for a new one and bought one delivered to my door for $205.00. I bought it after having tried a demo of the club. Pros: I like this club very much. The first new driver I've owned, having played with a used Brunswick XPC until now, this club really puts the ball out there. I truly am amazed at the distance I get from this driver, constantly putting me within a short-iron, (3 more strokes), of the green. I hit this club 75-100 yards farther than my old club. You can imagine how satisfying that is. This club is forgiving compared to my other driver, with my slices and hooks not as pronounced, and mis-hits still getting some distance out there. I like the look of the club at address, the feel and balance of the club, and, yes, I like the sound of the club. It sounds a bit like an aluminum bat hitting a softball, (which you'd swear I was doing if you saw my swing), but with a bit higher pitch in tone. When others on the course hear you tee-off, they'll be looking well down the fairway watching for your ball to land. Cons: No complaints. Quality: It looks and feels like a quality product. Review Summary: From the perspective of a relatively new golfer, I like this club very much.

Went to the range yesterday to practice. Took the new 9.5* driver to test it out. I hit it a lot better than I figured I would with that factory insta
