Details: Ben Hogan Apex Edge-stiff shaft-not adjusted

Purchase: i bought this set of Ben Hogan Apex Edges on eBay for 164.50...used but when i received them they were as if they had never been hit before ie..no scuffs-dents-dings-nicks. in the stores these retail for about 899.99-550.99. again, I paid are ridiculous 164.59!!!!!
Pros: this is the first set of forged irons i have hit with. i purchased my first set online which were a knock-off set of callaway X-16 (which were and awesome set!!). i was looking for something a little more and that would last me years. when you make perfect contact you can see the design at work. you don't feel any negative feedback off perfect shots...and even the mis-hits only vary slightly. you don't see a tendency of chunking or slicing/topping (if you keep your head down!) and also, the overall look of the club is by far the best on the market!! it doesnt scream attention and looks innocent. but when you unleash them.....watch the f out!!!
Cons: absolutely nothing. even though this set is close to what a blade feels like, it screams EASY TO HIT!!!! great feed-back
Quality: Ben Hogan Apex Edge irons are built to perfection. Rarely, if ever, do you see a forged iron with a cavity back that keeps the club easy to hit. i have yet to find one of these sets. the feedback you receive in unreal!! and when you do hit that perfect shot, you know it!! INSTANTLY!!

Review Summary: THESE CLUBS ARE UNREAL!!! i have only used them for one week and i can see and feel the difference!!! i played in my first ever golf tourny and place 4th in a four man scramble out of 18 teams. maybe it's not saying much but when my team used 90% of my tee shots (this was a par 3 course), you kinda tend to have faith in the clubs you purchased and your mental game goes through the roof!! confidence is incredibly restored!!!!

Purchase: Purchased the irons from a dealer on E-Bay and paid about $425 for the complete set 3 - EW. Have since purchased the LW and the SW and will be looking for the FW.
Pros: The feel of these irons is terrific. Miss hits give you good feedback and good shots feel like you are slicing through butter.
Cons: The EW could have a little more loft. Too much gap between the EW and the SW.
Quality: Excellent quality, what ypu would expect from Ben Hogan.

Review Summary: For a game improvement club this was the leader in the deep cavity back club and is still one of the best. ALl the other manufacture's are trying to copy a great club.

Purchase: Purchased on ebay with a Hogan carry bag for $418cdn delivered. I was looking for forged game improvement irons.
Pros: I love the classic look of this set of forged irons. The forged steel face gives instant feedback on the quality of the shot hit. There is nothing like the feel of a well hit shot. The huge cavity undercut makes this a very forgiving iron. The Apex 3 shaft allows me to hit nice high shots to the green.
Cons: The grips are like GP tour velvets but seem harder. Would prefer a Winn type grip as a stock item.
Quality: Quality Hogan construction.

Review Summary: I don't think Hogan should of discontinued the Apex Edge model for the CFT's. The steel faced Edge has much more feel than the slightly longer CFT's. Highly recommended for a high handicapper.

Purchase: I bought these irons from ebay for about $600.00CDN. I checked out the Edge Pro's which are also very nice, however decided to go with a game improvement iron.
Pros: The feel when you hit the ball properly is amazing. There is nothing like hitting a forged iron.
Cons: Nothing to dislike.
Quality: Only the highest quality are in these forged irons. The Apex shafts are just a good as anything out there. All the irons feel the same.

Review Summary: A lot a pride at the Hogan factory is plain to see and feel when using these irons. It's too bad they are discontinued.

Purchase: I bought these from a shop in Australia called golf green i payed about $1850 2-pw,
Pros: these clubs are mint they look good play amazing and feel awesome they are a blade which is great if u strike the ball well cause it is so much easier to shape ur shots but unless u are at least a 12 hadicapper dont waste ur cash buy some shitty callaways instead.
Cons: nothing to dislike
Quality: they are made from Forged 1025 Carbon Steel for feel and feedback. they have Moderate Toe Relief and Muscleback Design for feel and control. Progressive Offset for optimum trajectory Top-Line Relief, rolled Leading Edge, and Traditional Shaping for improved alignment great clubs visit www.benhogangolf.com for more info about them.

Review Summary: if ur good buy them if u suck or are old buy a cavity back club like a callaway.

Purchase: I bought the Hogan Apex Edge series irons on advice of a golf pro friend of mine. For the 5 - LW (4 wedges) I paid $615 including shipping from NZ!
Pros: These are the best irons on the market, bar none. You often hear how certain irons will do wonders for your game...the Hogans live up to that claim. Since they are forged, the Hogan give such a wonderful feeling when you hit them. Even on mis hits, they still fly straight and long. I have gained a full iron in distance since using the Hogans. One owrd of caution - it is imperitive that you get fitted for your set. I am fairly tall - 6'1" but my arms are very long. I therefore had my irons (5 - 7) half and inch shorter and my short irons(8 - LW) a quarter inch less. It made all the difference in the world. I also recommend that you choose to take all 4 wedges(PW, FW, SW and LW). The FW is Hogan's Gap wedge. Instead of trying to half swing a club or overpower it when stuck inbetween distances, the 4 wedge system plays beautifully. I was also thinking of getting Rifle or Sensicore shafts in my irons - Don't! The Apex shaft (I took the #4 - stiff) does a great job. It has a low mid point so the ball gets in the air real fast, even in the long irons. My set starts at the 5 iron because I typically had problems with the 4,3 and 2 iron. Not any more! In fact I am looking to buy a 4 iron and a 2 iron and drop my 7 and 5 wood. I am now a 6 handicap and I love it! Try the new Hogans and you will never go back. You cannot get a better iron for the money. TK3
Cons: Nothing to write about!
Quality: Excellent construction. The heads feel heavy, giving you a very confident feeling when you swing the club.

Review Summary: The Hogan Apex Edge are worth every penny!
