Purchase: I won another set of clubs that I traded for these. I changed the configuration so that I got 3-PW, GW, SW, and LW, all matched. I think that was a good choice. There isn't any difference in feel between them that way
Pros: I switched from Titleist DCI Black Oversize to these clubs. The two things that are noticibly different are: 1) Square grooves - unbelievable. I can stop and back up Top Flites if I want to! Unbelievable backspin. 2) Forged vs. cast. The dispersion is markedly different. My iron play is much, much more consistent with these forged clubs. The 3-6 irons are musclebacks with progressive cavities (more cavity in the 3, less in the 6), and the 7-down are blades. This means that in the longer clubs I can mishit and still advance the ball, and in the shorter clubs I have much tighter control. I have stopped aiming for a third of the green and have started aiming for six-foot circles. I can now control the flight with much more control.
Cons: I've now played with these clubs for almost a full season (September/October last season, and April to now this year), but the cavity-backed 3-5 irons are more difficult to hit consistently than I would like. The swing that I have to take is just slightly different than for the rest of the set. If I had it to do all over I might have gone to a straight blade set. However, now that I have the two swings more-or-less in the bag I'm satisfied that this set will continue to serve me well.
Quality: Great. The chrome finish is still intact, and neither the faces nor the edges are dinged up yet.
Review Summary: I'm pretty happy with my decision.
