Purchase: Bought them online from Dallas Golf. Paid 450. I was looking for a nicer set of irons, and was looking at these and the Mizunos. Did not want a full blade, but was interested in a forged club. Pros: They are great to look at, and when you hit them well they are very long. They give plenty of feedback, and the wedges are really fun to play with. Cons: Not forgiving. If you miss with them, you know it. Feels terrible. They also have a low trajectory, and I found my distances were not always consistent. Every now and then, I would hit one on the screws and it would sail 20-30 yards over norm. Big variance in distance made me lose some confidence. Quality: Nicely constructed. Very high quality. Beautiful clubs. Review Summary: It might be that my handicapp was too low for these clubs. I am a 17, and sometimes I hit them well, but often I struggled. The wedges are great, the 4,5,6 are hard to hit.

Purchase: I aquired Hogan Apex Plus irons used at Bonaventure Golf in Savannah,Ga. for 69.00. I think they were mispriced but they let me have them anyway. Pros: These clubs have good distance, good forgiveness but not as good as my Ta-7s yet I prefer these clubs because I can make the ball go where I want it to weather it be high, low or a draw. They also have a better shot dispersion. I prefer a smaller head and a forged head. Cons: I can not find anything I do not like about the Hogan Apex plus. I am an avid golfer that hits 100 balls a day every day so these clubs may not be for the occasional or once a week golfer. Quality: The apex plus irons are forged cavity back that are blade size and play like a muscle back because they are really a combination of a cavity back and a blade. Review Summary: I really feel that I have found the irons that I will stay with for a long time. Playing irons is the most favorite part of my game. I like having an iron that is forgiving but yet will not balloon against the wind because we have a lot of wind along the coast in Florida. These irons are perfect. I also feel more comfortable with a smaller head. On 2004-04-03, Maiste rated this Ben Hogan Apex Plus a 5...(3273)
Purchase: I bought these set from a Pro Instructor at my club. (Paid 300 dls. for them, I think they were a great deal.) Pros: The look great, the desing makes them always look as new. They are a mixture between blades and cabity back, so tey feel solid when you hit them and it's easy to shape your shots. They are also light. I've been usin graphite shafts on my other clubs, and these are riffle. There's not much diference in weight but there is in force through your impacto with the ball. Cons: These irons are not as forgiving as a ping o callaway iron. If you hit them with the outer part it feels like a slap. But the sweetspot is as good as it gets. Quality: These are between a blade and a cabity back. They are Midzize. The shafts are riffle regular. And the grips (which y recomend a lot) are Winngrip. Review Summary: Great clubs to play with. I've lowered 5 strokes on my handicap from a 24 to a 19. Y do recomend these Irons a lot, specialy to players with handicap 25 and lower. Purchase: I bought these irons through Ebay and I paid $540.00 in 2001. I bought these because I loved the feel they gave me when I struck the ball solidly. Pros: I love the look of these clubs. They are the best looking irons I've seen in a long time. These clubs have the sweetest feel when you strike them in the center of the club. The long irons are easier to hit because of the low center of gravity, the middle irons have good control, and the short irons are deadly accurate. Cons: I did not like the way the clubs felt when hit on the toe or heel. They are definitely not very forgiving, but are more forgiving than the Hogan Apex blades. These clubs will get dinged up very easy because they are made of such soft metal. I love the forged feel but I hate how they get dinged if you don't take care to cover them. Quality: The construction of these irons are second to none. The forging is phenomenal, and gives you a solid look and feel. I love the U groves because they give you just the right amount of spin and control. Review Summary: The bottom line is these clubs are the best feeling clubs I've ever played. I've shopped around and played around with other clubs but none can compare to the true feel that these clubs give. While not the most forgiving, the good shots feel great and that's what you'll remember about these clubs. They are worth the money and will give you a good feeling using them even if you aren't hitting them well. On 2003-05-02, trc rated this Ben Hogan Apex Plus a 5...(1245)

Purchase: I purchased my set from my Golf Club 3 years ago and paid $600 E-2iron.The club pro ordered the set for another member but they did not like the set when they came in.I liked the looks of the iron and after playing 18 holes I was sold. Pros: They are a very beautiful iron and have a very traditional quality about them.I like the solid feel the irons produce on well struck shots and for a forged club they are as forgiving as any club I played prior.Overall solid is the best word I would use to discibe this club. Cons: I have noticed the ball jumps off the face of the short irons on chips and knockdown shots so distance control can be a problem. But overall there is not much I don't like about this iron set. Quality: Hogan produced a high quality forged cavity/muscle back iron.A beautiful finish with details like multi color ferrule, painted sunburst, and large red numbers marking each iron. The clubs are traditional looking but technology like variable face thickness and forged cavity make these a winner. Review Summary: If you like traditional looking clubs and the added playability of a cavity look no further. In one word this club is solid and should work for low and mid handicap players alike.I like the looks of the club in my bag and at address but it's the performance the club offers that keeps them there.
