Purchase: As a 13 handicap and avid golfer I have played Callaway x-14's for the past 2 years and I felt my game was ready for the challenge of less cavity back. I purchased a set of Hogan Edge CFT irons from a local golf shop in Bella Vista, AR ($499.00). Pros: The feed back on true hits, as well as mis-hits, was instantaneous. I found myself working the ball on the greens. My local golf shop offered me a set of of Nike Musclebacks. They were a great club, but the Hogan irons were not only a superior club, but much prettier. Cons: The drawback of the Hogan Edge CFT irons is that some mis-hits punish you with teeth rattling vibration, but that real-time feedback was exactly what my game needed. Quality: The Hogan name is synonomous with quality and beauty. The high-polish look and signature Hogan crest will make your wife jealous and the solid one-piece feel which adds distance and control will have the rest of your foursome running to the golf shop.
Review Summary: Go to your local golf shop and hit a bucket with the Hogan Edge CFT irons and you won't give them back.

Purchase: I bought these Ben Hogan Irons in the Summer of 2003 after demoing them. I played two rounds with the demo clubs and decided to buy a new set and store my old Powerbuilts as a spare set. I paid about $600.00 for 3 through pitching wedge. Pros: These clubs will hit the ball very straight. Miss hits will still fly straight. The grips are comfortable. The heads have good weighting and an appealing look to them. I bought the regular flex as I am a 20 handicaper. The swingweight for these clubs are the standard D-O. Not too heavy, not too light. If you have a moderate to high swing speed, these will suite you well. Nice feel around the green. Cons: While the ball flys straight, I have lost about Five to Eight yards per club. Not sure if this is due to the softness of the head or the way that the club is built. As for working the ball, it is hard. Could be the off set that makes this club hit the ball straight. Quality: Solid construction and excellent quality. Astetics are very nice. I have played nearly every weekend since I bought these clubs and they have very little wear to them. Review Summary: The Ben Hogan CFT Irons are great for the 20+ handicaper who is looking for a forgiving, straight ball flight. The cost is minimal and the clubs will wear well. Purchase: I purchased these irons from my club pro shop for $899.95 CAD. Pros: These irons are the best I have ever played with. One of the most important discoveries was the amount of spin generated by these irons. The lofts are apprimately 2 degrees stronger and 0.5 inches longer than my previous set but I do not get as much distance with the Hogan set. The reason as far as I can determine is the increased ball spin. Most of the distance is carry with very little roll. I find this characteristic is an unexpected bonus, particularly on approach shots. I have dropped 3 strokes since changing to these irons. Cons: I would have preferred a choice in grips but I have adjusted to the ones that came on the irons. Quality: Excellent construction and very good looking. Review Summary: As a result of this purchase, I am convinced more than ever that good quality irons will improve your game just as much as poor or mismatched equipment can hold your game back.
