Purchase: I bought this on Ebay for $165.00 after trying it out while I was visiting a shop in Seattle.
Pros: Although this thing sticks out like a sore thumb, it putts as true. The ball comes off the face without a hop and tracks straight to where you point it. When you sole the club, you will notice the shaft slants away from target. You must set the shaft perpendicular to the ground for the 1 degree of loft to be effective. Score lines make it easy to line it up although as another reviewer noted, some have bad paint. Choose carefully.
Cons: The looks cause alot of questions which can be a distraction. Price is a hefty $199.99 at most shops making this pretty expensive. The aluminum is rwally soft. Take care not to slam your clubs into the bag or you may be sorry. The headcove won't protect it from that kind of abuse.
Quality: The milling is flawless. I wish they would plate it to make the surface harder and more resistant to dings.

Review Summary: Great putter. 10 footer are pretty easy to make with this thing.2 and 3 footers are nothing.

Purchase: After seeing this putter win on tour by a tour player noted for his putting I decided to place the Bettinardi putter along side my Railgun putter and see which came out on top.I purchased my Ben Hogan, Big Ben standard size putter on line through Golf Smith for $199.
Pros: My railgun was short on looks but long on accuracy. I offen was the butt of putter chokes from is that a potatoe masher to was it a branding iron. My new Ben Hogan putter not only has beautiful craftmenship in its design but the putter can't miss. Alignment is outstanding, Site lines are simple yet exacting the feel has proven consistant on all types of greens. Protecting a 7 handicap is not easy for me. The Ben Hogan Big Ben putter has balanced out a suspect short game.
Cons: It took a short period of time to get use to the clup face. The jeweler cut on the face appears uneven to the touch. Short slick putts appeared to come off as if a grain of sand was on the face. After a few putts the grain of sand was in my mind. The putter strokes the ball as pure as the greens allow.
Quality: The quality of the putter is both eligant and ruggid; both imaginative and traditional. The construction to this point is of the highest quality. The putter has many ports that most be cleaned after every round.

Review Summary: The bottom line is this putter should prove a good addition to the bag of serious golfers that maintain a quality bag.

Purchase: After a very frustrating day on the course, losing 5 ways on a $5 nassau because I continued to leave putts short of the hole, I proceeded to Golfsmith to look for some help. You see, my daughter gave me a $100 gift certificate and I was looking for a putter that would help me to "get the ball to the hole". I spent an hour testing out every putter in the store. I must have told the sales guy 10 times that I didn't need any help and that I was just looking. To be honest I really wanted the Scotty Cameron Futura but could not bring myself to cough up the $300 (even with the gift certificate). I definitely would have had to tell the wife that I won the putter at a golf outing. I narrowed my selection down to the "Odysey Two Ball" and the "Big Ben". I settled on the "Big Ben" 43" standard and have been extremely happy with the improvement to my putting. It was worth the $200.
Pros: The first thing that I noticed about the putter is that it has a rock solid feel. The ball rolls beautifuly off the face giving me more confidence than with my old "White Hot". The size of the head takes some getting used to but once you get past that, I'm not sure I can go back to my old blade style. I now have no trouble getting the ball rolling and to the hole!! Off center hit are none existent. The confidence that I have on 5 footers is remarkable.
Cons: There's not much I don't like about the putter. Maybe if I had to say something I would tell you that the Head Cover is a pain to take on and off.
Quality: The quality and workmanship of the putter is excellent.

Review Summary: The "Big Ben" has been a game saver for me. I would definitly recommend this putter to anyone that has trouble getting the ball to the hole and with 3 footers that must be made to win a match.

Purchase: $188 - Golfsmith.com, June 2003
Pros: This is the easiest putter to line up and supports an "effortless" stroke. It has so much mass behind the ball, you simply have to release the club through the hitting area and it takes care of itself. I've always been a "mid mallet" user, but recently have gone to a couple of blade-like Scotty Camerons to try to improve. Big mistake. I have a slow, smooth putting stroke, and just can't lag putt well with a blade. Since getting the Big Ben, I've played 2 rounds. I have NOT missed a putt within 4-5 feet. I three putted only twice. One putted 7 greens. As an aside, I've switched to a "left hand low" grip, and it fits this putter perfectly. Thank you Jim Furyk.
Cons: Not a thing.
Quality: This is 1 solid piece of aluminum. Not "softball bat" alumninum either. It's as solid as you can get. Feel is great too. I was really surprised, because you hear "aluminum" and you think "baseball bat".

Review Summary: This putter is top notch. I couldn't be happier. It's sooo much easier to align than that FUTURA monstrosity, and doesn't look & feel like that FISHER PRICE Callaway 2-ball. It's well worth the $200 for a club that you hit 25-40 times a round. How many times to you hit your $500 driver?
