Purchase: Hogan Edge E wedge. The E wedge is Hogan's pitching wedge, measuring 46 degrees. I bought it used for only five bucks at a second hand store. The shaft has a 3 on it, which is Hogan's symbol for regular flex steel (a 4 means it is a stiff flex).
Pros: The head is a little larger than most pitching wedges, and it's a cavity back, so it has some forgiveness. It's forged, so it has a good soft feel to it.
Cons: The bright chrome sometimes glares if the sun hits it. The leading is is very straight, and I would like it if it had a more rounded leading edge.
Quality: The club is an excellent design as far as quality. I bought it used, and it still is in good shape.

Review Summary: One thing I didn't mention is that this club was easy to bend for lie angle. It is forged, and I took it to a shop to have it bent more upright for my swing, and it bent very easily. Despite being a cavity back, it doesn't hit the ball too high, which I like.

Purchase: I purchased this pitching wedge used at my local golf store for $19.99. The PW that came with my set had too much offset, and I was looking for something with less offset and a soft feel.
Pros: The head is forged, so it has a very soft feel. Surprising for a Hogan, the head is large in size. It is a forged cavity back, yet the cavity is not deep. There is almost no offset, so the ball can be worked left to right easily.
Cons: Because the clubhead is forged of a soft steel, the grooves aren't going to last forever. If you hit a lot of shots "on the money", you will cause groove wear over time. The clubhead is a shiny chrome polish, so you will get some problems with reflection of the sun occasionally.
Quality: This is an excellent quality clubhead, one of Hogan's first forged cavity backs. It is forgiving, yet the cavity is shallow enough to impart great feel. The manufacturers at Hogan do not label this as a PW, but rather have an E on the sole. This stands for Equalizer, because Hogan himself referred to the PW as such. It is 46-47* of loft, and 64* lie angle.

Review Summary: If you have purchased a set of clubs, 3-PW, but aren't quite satisfied with your PW, this is a great club to try. It has minimal offset, can be worked left to right or right to left, it can keep the ball low into the wind, which most offset pitching wedges cannot do. Although it does have bounce, the leading edge is quite sharp, so you may take a little more turf than with your old wedge.
