Details: Birdieball, practice golf 'balls'

Purchase: I bought 25 'used' birdieballs of their website for $30 (plus $10 sandh, which was more than a bit steep).
Pros: They work exactly as described on the Birdieball website. They feel like you're hitting an actual golfball, not a wiffleball or foam ball. I have a decent amount of space in my backyard, but not enough to do much more than simple chips, etc, with a real ball. With the birdieballs I can hit basically everything in the back, except the driver. (since you hit them with the hole facing up - they look like a napkin ring - you need a special tee. I'm going to try to rig my own somehow) Man, do I have a wicked slice I need to work on!! But I can hit my birdieballs with full swings in my back yard, or I sometimes go to a big field by a local school that's more than big enough, and always deserted. Lots of fun. Oh, and I just bought a couple of fake grass doormats at our local Giant, Evil chain retailer. I stand on one, hit off the other, and they work fine. I didn't want to lay out the xtra cash for their proprietary mat.
Cons: Hmmm, other than they overcharged for shipping? Nothing.
Quality: Birdieballs come in two types, regular (or whatever they call it) and 'pro', which are supposed to be indestructible. I spent the few extra bucks for the pro model. I can't imagine breaking one, ever. Again, I got the used or 'logo overrun' set of 25, much cheaper than buying new ones. However, they all looked brand new to me, not a scratch on them. Go figure.

Review Summary: these are just great. Much better than hitting lightweight wiffle or foam balls. Great feedback. You can work on shot shaping, etc.
