Details: B-330S
Purchase: bought a sleeve, paid $10 at golfsmith Pros: Drives amazingly straight for a tour ball. Distance seemed good, but not mind-bogling.
Putts just OK..but the iron play is amazing with this ball, beautiful trajectory, very accurate and sits down quick. Cons: didn't putt real well for me. might have just been an off day. Quality: plsyed all 18 holes with same ball. it's done, but that's more than I get out of most balls. Review Summary: usually shoot high 80's, shot a 77 with this ball today.

Purchase: I do a LOT of ball testing to fine tune my game and keep abreast of technology.
Some of the premium balls that I have tested are:
-Callaway Hex, Rule 35 blue,
-Srixon Hi-Brid Tour and Pro UR,
-Hogan Hawk and Tour Deep black,
-Precept U-Tri Tour, Bridgestone B330, -Wilson Tx4,
-Nike One Gold and Platinum,
-Titleist ProV1, ProV*, Professional, Balata, NXT Tour,
-Taylor Made Innergel Tour and Professional,
-Wilson True Tour,
-Maxfli HT (my old favorite), Elite, Revolution Solid
-Dunlop Gold Cup Balata Pros: This ball, the regular B330 and the Wilson Tx4 are the best at holding their line in the wind (compared directly with ProV1, U-Tri Tour, Hex, One Platinum and Gold, Srixon Hi-brid tour(an old wound ball), NXT Tour, Hogan Hawk).
The Hi-brid Tour, Hawk, ProV1 are softest in that oder, with the B330s, One Gold and One Platinum tied for second. Third in softness is the NXT Tour. In fourth is the U-Tri Tour. Fifth equals the Tx4 and regular B330 with the Hex in last place. NOTE: Soft Feel off of the IRONS, (especially 3-8) is the MOST important aspect to me with STRAIGHT off of the driver a close second.
Distance off of the irons is longest with the ProV1 and older One Gold (average of 5 yards over second). Second is the One Platinum and Tx4 (average of 2-3 yards over third). Third is the B330s, Hex, B330 and old U-Tri Tour. All of the others bring up the rear cluster between 1-5 yards back typically (the Hawk being shortest).
Distance off of the Driver has the B330 and Tx4 as the longest with the B330s, U-Tri Tour and Hex tied for second an average of 5 yards back. The One Platinum, ProV1, NXT Tour are third in this category. It should be noted that the ProV1's I am talking about are older versions, I have not tried the Newer 06-07's. The Hawk is the shortest as I simply over compress this ball that was made for 90mph swings.
Side spin off of the driver is lowest with the B330, B330s, U-Tri Tour, Hex and Tx4 and they all go straight for me (no more than a 5 yard fade/draw). The other balls, especially the Hi-brid tour tend to fade or draw 10-15 yards off line. The Hawk was the best of this group, averaging only 7-10 yards but I couldn't live with the loss of distance and loss of spin on the greens for my chipping.
Chipping/Putting: Best as in consistently closest to the hole is the ProV1. The B330s is second. There is a tie for third with the following: One Platinum/Gold, NXT Tour, U-Tri Tour. Fourth is the Hawk. The Hi-brid tour is fifth as it spun too much on chips and would consistently come up short and it was NOT a very good putting ball, often short and off line. The Hex and regular B330 putt fine but chip terribly for my weak short game (which is the cause of my higher handicap).
Cons: I REALLY want a softer feel off of the irons and better chipping and putting consistency. The B330s holds it putting line very well but its feel doesn't help me get it consistently to the hole.
The short game prowess of the ProV1 FOR ME and it's SOFTER FEEL off of the irons make me want to try the new 07 or older 06 models to see if it will also go straighter off of the driver consistently then the models 3-4 years ago did. Quality: Durability: This simply isn't a problem for me typically so I don't rate this as my golf swing is more sweeping. It wasn't even a problem for me with older balata balls that I've practiced/played with in my 9 years of golf (Dunlop, Titleist, Hi-Brid Tour).
Of course if people think that ONLY hitting down on the ball is the mark of a good swing then I guess Byron Nelson and Moe Norman amongst others stunk, NOT!!!! (LOL)
Of course you WILL generate more backspin that way which can help in holding greens but that typically isn't a problem with the premium balls anyway.
Review Summary: Final grade: B330s is best as it is close enough in the short game and superior in the driving game with enough of a soft feel off of the irons to just edge out everything else FOR NOW.
I MAY switch BUT before I do that I would need to test the 07 versions of the B330s and One Platinum.
These versions are supposed to be softer and a little longer than my 06 version B330S and the Hex 56 would also need to be tested as it is supposed to be buttery soft (but may not be as straight off of the driver, so we will have to see).
Also, before a switch is made I would like to test the Srixon URS and TM TP Red, however, based upon their reviews on this site I do not think they will be as good as the above three. On 2005-10-31, Chuck P. rated this Bridgestone B330-S a 5...(6360)
Purchase: I bought a dozen Bridgestone B330S golf balls at a golf specialty shop for 39.99 because I hate paying another $5 dollars for Titleist Pro V1Xs. My driver swing speed is about 108-112. Pros: In search of a ball for cold weather I "stumbled" upon the B330S. From the first swing I loved the feel, distance and playability of the ball. There is minimal sidespin, penetrating ball flight, and ideal green side spin to help the ball hold. This ball insipres confidence as putts "feel great" and you know you don't have to overswing to get long ball flight off the driver or from long irons. Short irons stop - even on hard greens. Cons: I think the graphics on the ball is quite ordinary. It doesn't look a fraction as good as it plays. The ultimate sleeper! Quality: The ball holds up better than any ball I have played to date and I have played the top "seven" "tour" balls on the market. No "dingers" just a little discoloration from a couple of wedge shots. Most of the premium balls I have played are inferior in this regard. The Bridgestone B330S held up as well as any ball I have played. I played 2 for 18 holes and they still looked good when I was done playing. Review Summary: This is a ball that any player would enjoy. Huge distance but playability and soft feel to make even an imperfect cold weather hit feel sweet off of a blade! I hate to say that 40 dollars a dozen is a deal - but it is in contrast to the popular 44.99 cost of Pro V1Xs. If they were the same price I still would go with the B330S. It is a ball that I will stay with because of it's versatile and playable "qualities". On 2005-08-22, no regrets rated this Bridgestone B330-S a 4...(6089)
Purchase: dozen received as gift, priced at $40/dz Pros: Nice feel/sound off driver/irons/putter. Easy to work the ball with irons. Cons: $40/dz Quality: satisfactory Review Summary: reasonable ball, a lower price point would enhance its positioning vis-a-vis premium balls On 2005-08-12, Marty rated this Bridgestone B330-S a 5...(6040)
Purchase: I paid $40 per dozen at the local pro shop. Pros: I have been playing Titleist all my life and am a huge fan of the pro-v's. That endded yesterday when I bought the B330-S. The ball goes further, the ball bites better, the ball chips and putts like nothing I have ever played with and the best part, after 36 holes the ball looks like I just took it out of the box! I should have bought just 1 ball and used it forever! Cons: Nothing, this is the real deal. Quality: See above, but once again the ball does not wear out. Review Summary: I will use this ball for a very long time. This will be the ball of the future. Look for all your friends to be using this ball real soon.

Went to the range yesterday to practice. Took the new 9.5* driver to test it out. I hit it a lot better than I figured I would with that factory insta
