On 2003-08-11, Dale B. rated this Burrows 351 Driver a 5...(2043)

Purchase: I purchased this driver at my local golf club and I paid $350 for the driver. The club had a demo day with Burrows Golf and I stopped by to try out their drivers. They have a quick fit system that lets you mix and match different driver heads to hundreds of custom shafts. I found a great head combination (9.5 degrees, 351 cc) with a ProForce XL stiff shaft. The club ordered me the Driver and Burrow custom made the club to the specifications I got on the driving range during the demo day.
Pros: I have used many drivers. My last one was a Big Bertha Hawkeye, 10 degree, and I used this one for about three years. I really liked that driver and didn't think I would switch until I tried this new Burrows Driver. It was unbelievable. The club is about 10 to 20 yards further than my Bertha, has a smooth silky feel when you hit it, with no vibration. However, what I like best about this club is that whether you hit it in the heel or on the toe, the ball goes almost as far. It is truly unbelievable. You get almost no loss of distance with toe or heel hits. With my Bertha a toe or heel hit would cost me 20 to 40 yards, at least. With the Burrows the loss is minimal if any. My average driving distance with my Bertha was about 270 yards. My average driving distance with this new Burrows is about 290 yards.
Cons: Presently, nothing. Looks good, hits long and stays in play.
Quality: The construction is truly first class. Excellent craftsmanship. I received my club and looked over everything to make sure they made it to the specs I got at the demo day. They did an absolutely perfect job.

Review Summary: I can't believe that you can still improve drivers, but I guess you can. The Burrows incorporates a new MAC technology, some type of Magnitude Amplification that makes the face hot all over. All I know is it is longer, straighter, with a better feel than my Bertha, and believe me, that is hard to do since my Bertha is one of the easiest hitting smoothest clubs around. This Burrows Driver is the finest driver I have every played. When people go to these demo days that Burrows has across the country they aren't going to believe how good this driver feels and how far it will go. All fo this from an essentially new golf company. Unbelievable.
