Details: Callaway HX Hot

Purchase: Purchased at Golf Galaxy for around 25.00 USD
Pros: I have been playing ProV1 balls for almost two years now and on a whim I picked up a dozen HX Hot. These are considerably longer with a lot less spin. For slow, soft greens these balls are fine. I've noticed that I need to factor in more roll on my approach shots. I don't mind because the distance is worth it. I think on fast, firm greens these balls may be a problem. I'm keeping some Pro V1's in my bag because I can't find a ball that will bite on a green like that one. If I could find a ball with the distance of the HX Hot and the shot stopping abilities of the Pro V1 then I would be thrilled.
Cons: The only negative is the lack of spin IF one is trying to impart some spin on the ball. Otherwise, it's a very well made ball.
Quality: Quality is first rate.

Review Summary: If you are an average hitter who would like to gain some extra yardage off the tees then this ball is definitely worth it. Also, the ball does not feel like a rock when hit. A very fine product for almost twenty bucks less than Pro V1.

Details: Calloway HX Hot Ball

Purchase: Bought at Golf Galaxy for $25.
Pros: LOONG! This ball was very long, I estimate another 15-20 yards on drives and just about the same on my irons. Ball resists scuffing very well. I have tried other balls, Tit V1, V1x, B330...none was more durable except possibly the V1x, but it is significantly more expensive. Very Hot feeling off the clubface too, which I really liked.
Cons: I could not make the ball spin. I would hit the center of the green and the ball would release through the green every time. The ball would be great for someone with hook or slice difficulty as it lacks spin but it is tough to hold a green with it.
Quality: Quality ball and very durable. I scuffed it up a little with my irons but easily used the same ball for all 18 holes.

Review Summary: Great ball for golfers that want to minimize ball spin and maximize distance. Not that expensive and holds up very well.

Purchase: they are a cheaper version of the HX Black and I need the added distance
Pros: goes very long
Cons: so far nothing I have found
Quality:

Review Summary: I would recommend these balls to anyone looking foe a cheaper ball they will fly very long

Purchase: 25 dollars per dozen at Golf Galaxy. Callaway had sent me a sample two-pack in the mail. The ploy worked, as I'm sold on them.
Pros: The ball goes LOOOONNG. It really does go longer than previous balls I had been playing, and still has decent spin going into the green and a soft feel for chips and putts.
Cons: Nothing not to like.
Quality: Superb.

Review Summary: I can't think of any reason I would play a different ball, and you can pay alot more for a different ball. Maybe if I swung a driver 115 mph like the pros, I would play a different ball, but this ball is perfect for the average Joe who is looking for distance with a relatively soft feel around the greens.

Purchase: got them for 24.99 a dozen at dicks. was looking for a softer 3 piece ball that would hold greens better but still not induce too much side spin off the tee.
Pros: everything. what an amazing ball. its long, its straight, and it can be EASILY worked with a fade or a draw. VERY soft feel around the greens. granted, ive been playing 2 piece balls, but i think most anyone would agree.
Cons: for me, nothing. it wont spin back, and if you have a low ball flight it might run a little, but its perfect for my high trajectory. again, i wasnt looking for something to back up. just something to be soft and hold while not giving up any distance off the tee. the amazing workability of this ball is an added benefit. it was MUCH easier to work than i expected.
Quality: wow!! once again, amazing. two balls through 18, and not even a scuff. i dont mind paying 30 bucks a dozen (im sure theyll go up eventually) for balls unless they rip up easily. these dont.

Review Summary: i would recommend this ball to anyone. im sold, and will not play anything else but callaway balls. i think theyre best suited for mid handicappers, but could be used by any level. if youre looking for a high spin ball, the prov1 or callaway hx tour might be a little better, but for someone who wants distance, soft feel, AND workability without excessive amounts of spin, this is the best ball ive ever seen. A+ way to go callaway!!

Purchase: I played the Callaway Big Bertha Reds and was purchasing them at a local golf shop. A Callaway Rep was there and sold me up to the new ball. Paid 24.99
Pros: The feel off the club head. I haven't felt a ball off the tee like this since my friend gave me a box of Pro V's. Also increased distance with more foregiveness.
Cons: I'm cheap. I don't like playing balls over $20 a dozen. But I'm hooked now.
Quality: Good quality. Takes a good beating. However, like all Callaway balls (I've played them all) they seem to attract dirt like no other ball. Keep them washed and they return to new.

Review Summary: I love these balls. I think they are every bit as good as a Pro V. Granted I'm not good enough to know the difference between the top of the line balls. Don't have a 40 yard shot that spins backwards or stops on a dime. But these are way better than any of the cheaper balls I've played- Top Flite, Maxfli, Nike Mojo, Titleist HP, even NXT.

Purchase: I paid 24.99 @ golf galaxy in columbus. I was a but skeptical at first, but Ill give anything a try.
Pros: I like the distance I get with the ball. I noticed that the ball was not as likely to shank with a slight mis-hit. The ball sticks very well to greens, unless they are seriously dry and hard.
Cons: nothing yet
Quality: Te quality is much better than the Hx Tour ball. I can play one ball 20+ holes unless the ball strikes a path or tree. It does not scuff easily

Review Summary: Great ball for the money!

Purchase: Purchased at Golfsmith for $24.99
Pros: Nice ball longer than the Srixon AD-333 I have been playing. Probably by 5 to 10 yards. Not as soft as the Srixon but not too hard. The HX Hot ball is longer with a lot less driver spin than the Srixon. Hit every fairway but one, which is pretty rare for me. On the last hole I miss hit it a bit and it still stayed in the fairway. The Srixon that I normally play would have faded into the rough for sure. Even though it's harder than the Srixon it still had good feel off the putter. The HX hot also stopped pretty well on approach shots into the green. Overall I thought the lower driver spin made a huge difference for me and therefore I plan to switch to HX Hot.
Cons: N/A
Quality: Good overall quality

Review Summary: Great ball
