Purchase: i bought these balls for 12 bucks a sleeve, and will now spend the 39.99 for a dozen. Pros: i like EVERYTHING about this ball. it has good distance, not too much lateral spin off the driver, is wonderful in the short game and putting, and amazingly enough is also durable. quite simply the best ball ive ever played, bar none. Cons: not a thing. i wish they were cheaper, but its still less than the prov1's for more ball. Quality: fantastic.
like i said, im amazed at how durable these balls are considering how they perform. Review Summary: run dont walk to get these balls.
if youre a prov1 player, my guess is you wont be after playing the hx tour. i sound like i work for callaway (i dont even use their clubs), but these balls are that good.

Purchase: I won a gift certificate in a tournament and used it on these. Pros: Handicap:7 Age: 29
This is the best wind ball I have ever played, period. So stable, it just doesn't get affected by the wind provided you put a good swing on it. Very, very long. It has a slightly hard feeling to it, but it is still able to generate plenty of spin on approach shots. Durability is pretty good. You can get one or two rounds out of a ball without severe scuffing from wedges. The HX cover technology is what makes this great ball. Cons: Slightly hard/firm feel off the irons, and especially the putter. Takes more practice to get accustomed to putting with it than anything. I eagerly await the new softer version currently being played on tour. With a softer feel to it, this ball will start to challenge Titleist for the top spot. Quality: Very good. Some minor wedge scuffing, but on par with other performance balls. Review Summary: I really enjoy this ball. If its windy out, this is the one to play. The HX red and blue 3 piece balls are probably just as stable, but for less cash and have a slightly softer feel. This one is definitely the distance king of the three, however, without having to sacrafice greenside feel and spin. On 2005-02-21, Morganite rated this Callaway HX Tour a 3...(5063)
Purchase: I got a free 2 ball sleeve in the mail from the callaway factory. Pros: I love how far this ball goes. It is the longest ball I have ever teed up, even in strong winds it plays nicely. Considering the distance, it is a fairly soft ball. Cons: I cant stand how this ball dosnt spin. It doesnt spin on short chips or full iron shots. Quality: I am not sure of the quality. One of them I played for 17 holes and didnt have a mark. The other ball had a scuff after one hit? Review Summary: If you want a distance ball go with the pro V1x. It spins more than the callaways and gets about the same distance. If you want a ball that spins well you might try the reg pro V1 or precept U-Tri tours On 2004-12-29, Chris rated this Callaway HX Tour a 5...(4895)
Purchase: Got a free sleeve in the mail Pros: Good quality, good durability and the farthest ball ive hit. Used for 17 holes. Cons: The price Quality: Through 17 holes not a single blemish on the ball. The color starts to fade but who really cares. Review Summary: Good ball. If you can find a good price try them out. I know you will find them helpful to your game. On 2004-11-23, Anonymous rated this Callaway HX Tour a 2...(4797)
Purchase: bought at golfsmith for $40 Pros: Distance is great. Cons: The spin just was not there. Soft feel (kinda). Price is way over what you should be paying. Stick to the ones you find. Quality: Good quality except the durability. Review Summary: not worth the price. On 2004-07-01, \"Bite ball!\" rated this Callaway Hx Tour a 5...(3829)
Purchase: Paid $39.99 through Golf Discount.com I had bought a three pack at a local course after reading the reviews on this website. I was wanting to put the Hx Tour and Pro V1 to the test on a good swing day to see which one I liked better. When I purchased the three pack the local pro told me that the Hx was a little longer the V1. Pros: What do I like about this unit? Construction and reliability: Everything, Everything, Everything. Longer than a Pro V1. Holds it flight in the wind, and checks on the greens. I don't put a lot of spin on the ball and my ball flight is a mid boring so to see a ball check up on the green with a 5 iron or 5 or 7 wood was a great site but even better was the ghost white look on my playing buddies when they saw it, too. Then when I spun it back of a hump on the green with a 7 wood, 7 WOOD!, my playing buddies almost cried. Cons: Price. $39.99 is pricey but, if you want the best you have to pay the price. There is a reason why a BMW is more expensive than a Ford escort. Quality: Held up great with the wedges. I play a lot of flop shots and tend to hit a few things as the ball travels off a tree and off the cart path towards the green. None of the balls I have played scuffed. Review Summary: Best ball I have played. Longer than a Pro V 1 for me (Swing speed 85-88mph). Great ball, pricey so I only play them on a good swing day or open fairways and par 3's with no water. Purchase: Las Vegas Golf and Tennis, Las Vegas, NV.
$39.99 plus tax.
I asked about it and the salesman said it was the best ball he had ever used.
Pros: Long and consistent drives with excellent roll. Drop, hop, and stop on the greens.
EXTREMELY RELIABLE for chipping and putting. I used the same ball for 18 holes and it appears to still be in excellent shape. Cons: The price--although it is the same price as Titleist, Hogan, and other premium balls. Once I hit it and enjoyed its performance, I didn't think about the price anymore. Quality: The quality and construction appear to be first rate. Since the ball flight and the roll on the green are very reliable, the inside of the ball must be of the same high quality as the outside appearance. Review Summary: What am I going to do with all these other brand balls I have in my closet and other places? This is a great ball. In a way, I wish Callaway and Taylormade would quit inventing the wheel every six months. Maybe Callaway has such a good ball in this one that they will leave it alone for at least a year.
Highly recommend the ball.
