Purchase: Off ebay in a 6 dozen order, around 27.00 a dozen. Brand new no seconds or scuffs.
Pros: Longest 'tour' ball I've hit to date with any kind of greenside control. This ball is soft of the irons and putter. It has great spin into the greens but is deadly straight off the driver.
Cons: If this is a bad thing, it actualy spins too much off of full wedge shots. I routinely spin the ball all the way back off a green.
Quality: Top notch

Review Summary: If you can hit it straight and generate enough clubhead speed for this ball too work, I highly recommend it.

Details: dozen

Purchase: Girlfriend got me a dozen for my birthday
Pros: They do go as far as the PRO-V1's and they stick like a pen knife in the greens but they don't put as well as the Titleist.
Cons: They don't feel as clean off the flat stick as the PRO-V1.
Quality: Very well made ball and it don't shred like the HX once did.

Review Summary: You know it's a pretty darn good ball and it flies pretty far. If this was the only ball I had to use I could live with that. I guess I could get used to the feel of it off the putter but other than that it works just as well as the PRO-V1.

Purchase: But this unit at the clubhouse of a course I played. Cost about $44 for a dozen.
Pros: The ball is soft and very workable around the greens, durable cover. The ball is as long as my other typical balls, Prov1x, etc. Ball does bite on the greens like the Prov1x does.
Cons: Cost. For this price, one could buy ProV1's and get the top performance for the same price. Nothing really stood out on this ball any more so than the ProV series.
Quality: Ball looked to be solidly constructed, no visible blemishes.

Review Summary: Good ball, workable and soft. But for the same price you can get Titleist ProV-series so why not do that? Nothing stood out as a separator for me on this ball.

Purchase: Bought a sleeve of the new callaway ball at the local golf store. Paid $14.
Pros: This ball is very nice to putt, which is not why I bought it. I thought I would get some distance with it but that hasnt been the case. My usual ball the bridgestone goes further for me. The ix does seem to fly straight with the irons.
Cons: Does not go as far as some other balls.
Quality: Nice looking ball but does discolor after a game.

Review Summary: For the price I think there are many better balls to choose from. I wont be buying these again.

Details: Box of Dozen balls.

Purchase: Roger Dunn, normal price, $45.
Pros: Seems to be just slightly longer than the HX Tour. Feels about the same, but seems to take off quicker. I think it feels stickier than the HX Tour.
Cons: One word: STAIN. To make the ball softer and stickier feeling, they did something to the cover - which made it stain very easily. The first time I played with one, after the first hole, I could not get the green/yellow smudge off it, even with a good scrub in the ball cleaner. Weird.
Quality: Same good quality from Callaway, but as I said in the above, I am not sure about its cover any more - it seems to be more durable but definitely loses its shine right away. For some who like to play with clean clean balls and need to have a clean ball on the green, this might be a problem. I am hoping that my package of balls are the exception, but I doubt the construction quality would vary that much, so I am a little worried about its 'stain-power.' Hahaha sorry about the pun.

Review Summary: I might go out and buy out the remaining HX Tours out there which are now much cheaper thanks to the release of the Tour iX. Although the HX Tour scuffs quite easily, the new discounted price cannot be beat. Plus, I have a feeling that they will go back and improve the Tour iX again, just like they did with the HX Tours. I'm going to rate this one 3, middle of the road.
