On 2004-08-19, Tight Lies rated this Callaway Big Bertha II, 10 degree, Regular Shaft a 5...(4087)
Purchase: I got this at Callaway pre-owned on line for $91.00 including shipping. It is in great shape and appears to have new grip, new shaft and head cover. Pros: I borrowed one of these while playing on vacation, played 27-36 holes 4 straight days. I didn't use it until the last 2 days but after using it, I bought one within 2 days after my vacation. It is the easiest driver to hit I have ever used (I've been playing "off and on" for about 40 years and have tried at least 5 drivers during that time, including 2 different Callaway's, Taylor Made Bubble Burner and Taylor Made 580, and the Dunlop LoCo 450cc). The ball seems to literally jump off the face and mis-hits are still straight. I am a 15 handicap and usually drive the ball around 210 yards. I was playing a couple of weeks ago and hit 4 drives over 250. I have not scored over 83 since I bought the club. This club is amazing as far as I'm concerned. I don't mean to advertise but if you are considering it, again I bought this one from Callaway pre-owned, traded in my Steelhead III, 9 degree and received $100 off the original price quoted on Callaway pre-owned. Check it out, you'll be glad you did. Cons: I can't find anything I don't like about this club, it is even really good looking. Quality: As usual, Callaway has made a high class club here. Review Summary: If you feel like you could score better if you could hit your drive 10-30 yards farther consistantly, buy one of these drivers.
