Purchase: I actually purchased a Callaway ERC Driver back in July 2002 at Big Oak Golf in Rochester, New York. Absolutely fell in love with this club. I had many friends that could not hit it. I felt very comformable right from the very start. I had been hitting the Wilson Big Red Fat Shaft. Hit it very acurately but not as long. I was averaging another 15 yard with the Callaway driver. Happened to be at the range with my wife who was buying a new driver and started a conversation with Mike. I told him how much I enjoyed the ERC. I was surprised when he told me the latest news that this was now considered a non-conforming club. I thought only at pro level. My 11 handicap kind of ruled out that concern. He also said if I used it, tecnically I wasen't even suppose to post a score. Then Mike went on to tell me the exchange program for a new Callaway VFT with a box of balls, at no cost. I was totally surprised and pleased knowing that Callaway is supportive and stands behind their products this way. I took the club out on the range and banged them out high into the net. Good enough for me. My hat's off to Callaway for the support they gave. I think more companies would achieve loyal followings if they followed Callaways lead. Anyways, will be playing in a tournament tommorrow. Hopefully, I can take the range swing to the course.
Pros: I for the most part hit the ball in the center of the club. If I carry a smooth swing to the ball, I get excellent distance and great ball flight. Off center hits did not hurt ball flight to badly but diminished distance as I would expect. The swing weight and distribution feel perfect for me. I usually hit the ball between 240 and 270 yds. I tried the Callaway C4 and could not feel the head. Did not like that club.
Cons: No problems yet!
Quality: This driver is made very well with excellent finish to the head, connection points and the shaft. I have a slow to medium swing speed and the shaft performs great. The grip is also very good and fits my hands well. I choke up about 1 inch and have medium size hands. I seem to get better control that way.

Review Summary: If not for anything, the support and stand behind their product attitude speaks very well for Calloway. I always love to try new drivers. Who knows, down the road, I may try someone elses and get another 15 yards more. For now, I'm smiling big time because I've got a driver I hit well, long, and that's half the battle.
