On 2004-08-03, buddas priest rated this Callaway GBB II a 5...(3975)

Purchase: $199/www.callawaypreowned.com (traded in/up)
Pros: Once again Callaway has done it in creating a beauty. Very classic clean lines. I have played with the Cally VFT before and decided to try out the GBB 2. Could technology r4eally mater? -- YES! Basically I am EASILY hitting my drive 10-15 yrds further with the GBB II. One thing I did notice was that it is forgiving compared to the VFT. Shots tend to stay straight off the toe.
Cons: Nothing.
Quality: Excellent quality and construction!

Review Summary: This driver makes the game alot more fun with straighter and longer drives down the middle.

On 2003-06-11, D R Taylor rated this Callaway GBB II a 4...(1501)

Purchase: Purchased the driver at a local pro shop for $350. I was looking for an upgrade from a Cleveland Quad Pro Ti. The original GBB was one of my favorite clubs but had problem with toe hits. The Cleveland was just a fill in. I read about the performance changes and decided to give it a shot.
Pros: The head is extremely forgiving for heel and toe hits. The mishits, of which there are many, seem to stay in play better than any driver I have used. I also like the appearance and profile. The dead center hits shoot off the club and the "pinging" noise of some drivers was not there.
Cons: The stock shaft is weak, and an accurate match to the head is very diificult. I used a Graffaloy Pro Elite X and now have switched to a Fujikara Vista Pro 70 X. The ball flight is better but I am still trying to find a combination that will produce more roll. Even low hits on the club face do not hit hot. The workability of the driver is somewhat less the other models I have tried.
Quality: The construction and appearance are good and I love the feel and balance of the club. Callaway's quzlity control is very good and the driver seems to be extremely solid.

Review Summary: I really like the driver - the only difficulty as it is with any driver is finding the proper shaft combination to get real results. I would put this out there beside most all the best, Taylor Made 500s and the Titleist K but would really like to understand why those clubs are able to produce the flatter "top spin" shot that is longer than mine.
