On 2004-09-04, Cheri J rated this Callaway GES System a 5...(4277)

Purchase: This is my first year to play golf. I played with an inexpensive, off-brand set of clubs. Very rarely did I ever drive off the tee over 100 yards. Also, very rarely did I get the ball in the air. I read about the GES system and the Taylor Made Miscela. My husband wanted me to invest the money for new clubs in lessons, but I finally convinced him just to let me try a set at Golf Galaxy. I tried both the GES and the Miscelas. The Miscelas were nice, but I was hitting better with the GES System. We walked out with the GES System and a dozen balls for $499.00.
Pros: My first drive on our local 9-hole course was over 120 yards. I made it to almost all the greens in two shots. I even had a 140 yard drive! I still need to work on my short game, but I can't praise these clubs enough. These clubs are forgiving on not-so-good swings. I was getting the ball into the air on almost all my shots. I was getting distance that I've never got before. My confidence level is great. With these clubs, I'm not going to be embarrassed or nervous with players waiting behind us. Even my husband, who was reluctant about buying new clubs, saw a HUGE differnce in my game.
Cons: The only thing that I don't like about the GES system is the bag that is included. It is very light and easy to carry, but I use a rolling cart, so that's not an issue. The bag itself is too small. There isn't enough room for the clubs. It's hard to pull out one club without pulling the rest of them out as well. The decorative stitching has bled and looks terrible.
Quality: The hollowed out heads look funny and are much heavier than my old clubs. But, all in all, this new design works!!!

Review Summary: This was my very first time playing with these clubs. I absolutely LOVE these clubs!!
