Purchase: I have been using the Callaway Biggest Big Bertha for several years - Although I love the club I decided to "upgrade" to a newer Callaway model. I did several days of research, and decided on the Hawk Eye VFT Titanium because of the "used" price found on the Callaway Pre-Owned website. Cost $129.99 used - in good condition. The club was delivered in much better condition than I expected - and to think I was willing to spend an additional $10 to upgrade. What I purchased was a Hawk Eye VFT Titanium with 9 degrees loft.
Pros: When I first took the club to the driving range I was upset because I couldn't hit it very well. Infact I was very disappointed. But I believe in the saying "A good craftsman never blames his tools"... So I just blamed myself... and chalked it up to a bad day at the range... The fact was I wasn't hitting my BBB any better... When I finally used it in a round it took me three holes to dial it in... ...and when I did I can honestly say I've never hit a golf ball ever as far as I did with this club... After dialing it in I had 5 chances to "AIR OUT" the ball, and 4 times I hit it on the screws... the one time I missed I couldn't complain on the distance either... The club is very forgiving... and easy to control... You don't need to muscle the ball at all... I have a "Stiff Flex" shaft and it was very impressive for a factory shaft...
Cons: The only thing I don't like is the sound... I am missing the "Tink" that the Biggest Big Bertha made on a solid short... This club has a "stealthy" tink sound to it.. But if thats the worst of it... No Worries... If you can't hit this club - give up golf.
Quality: The construction of the unit is very solid - something that is expected by Callaway Golf.

Review Summary: Bottom Line: Everyone wants to hit the long ball. This club is much longer than my Biggest Big Bertha Club. No Questions. I read some of the reviews on this board - and after reading them I thought I had made a mistake on my purchase. I came back to say NO WAY... If there are people saying don't buy it - its because they don't want you to out drive them... simple swing - big results.
