Details: X 460 9* loft, Speeder regular flex

Purchase: I was looking for more distance. Been playing a Callaway Steelhead 9*. Love it but wanted more distance.
Pros: This club is worth every penny. First night at the driving range consistantly flying the ball 260-275 yds. That's normally where my 'good' drives stop. Drives were straight and off center hits were around 250yds. Was apprehensive about going to the new larger heads for drivers, but did some research and hit some clubs and settled on this one. Glad I did.
Cons: I've always loved the 'Ping' sound my Steelhead made when hit. This club sounds like a metal trash can. The sound takes some getting used to, but it was kinda funny seeing the looks on the other guys at the driving range when they heard it and then seen the ball rocket way down the range. Still brings a smile to my face.
Quality: This is what I consider standard Callaway quality. Top notch.

Review Summary: I've played Callaway clubs most of my golf playing years for a reason. I like the best. I currently have the 1996 'Gold' irons and wedges and Steelhead fairway woods. And now, this wonderful driver.

Details: X-460 with stock Fuji S flex, 9*

Purchase: Ebay, $150 plus shipping, brand new... a steal.
Pros: I like everything about this driver. It is simply the best I have ever played, and I have either owned or played most everything. The most impressive thing to me is that this puppy has the smallest dispersion pattern of any driver I have hit, by a good margin. I used to play a Taylor r5, a good stick... but it doesn't come close to the X. The stock fuji S flex is a very good shaft, and fits me to a tee. Very easy to line up, and you can swing easy or swing hard, as long as you are smooth, it is very easy to find the sweet spot. And it is long... REALLY long! I tried a friends first (same exact mix) and hit the first one 280, right down the pipe. I took a big pass at the second one... 320, again, right down the pipe. Ordered one that evening, and it has performed great ever since I got it. While some of the previous problems, mostly a big hook or a snapper were due to having a shaft that was too light, the heads just were not of the quality of the X in balance, control or pop off the face. While some don't care for the sound, I really like it, a muted but solid metallic thud, not the tinny sound of some... very satisfying and powerful. Grip is very good for stock. Fuji has been making some SUPER stock shafts... for example the factory Fuji in the MAC Burrows was so good that fuji sold it after burrows went under as the Tour Release, a great shaft... I think this shaft is at least as good or better. The 9* loft is fine, a medium, boring trajectory... I would be fine with the 9.5* or the 10* as well.
Cons: I like everything about this stick. I would like to try the 3 wood..... but the driver is so long and straight, I don't have a big need for a 3 wood.
Quality: So far, outstanding, and I know Callaway stands behind their stuff better than anyone out there, although Ping is close.

Review Summary: This stick is better than the r5, r7, Cleveland Hi-bore, Comp, Ping G5, G2... sort of like the hi-bore in sound and didtance, but better control and longer. Titleist is junk, Ping G5 and 2 are good, but not close, as are the r7 and r5. $150 was just the best deal on a stick of this caliber I have ever found. If you need to go low cost, the Nickent 3DX is acceptable.

Details: 8.5 degree tour model, Aldila NV 65, X-flex, 1/2 inch longer shaft

Purchase: Paid 300$, bought at local pro shop. Bought the X 460 because I was ready to upgrade from the Great Big Bertha. I have always liked the look of Callaway drivers. The X460 has a better setup than anything out there. I chose the Aldila shaft due to its slightly firmer tip as compared to other standard offerings.
Pros: The X 460 has a beatiful head with a square setup. It has a nice sharp sound to it. I came from a Great Big Bertha 6.5 degree and the 8.5 X460 hits the ball slightly higher, but longer. I would estimate 10-20 yards longer than an equally hit Great Big. The driver is as straight as any driver I have hit. Off center hits get great distance and still feel quite solid. Overall, the club is just as straight, but longer.
Cons: I have no complaints.
Quality: Great construction with a beatiful face/head. Very high quality.

Review Summary: I am very pleased with the purchase of the X460. I looked heavily at the FT-3, but the X460 is 100$ cheaper and has a larger face. The X460 setup and appearance gives me confidence in my driving and more distance.
