Purchase: Robins AFB Golf Club $940 4-LW
Pros: I saw these items at a Demo Days which was held with three other club manufacturers plus Calloway. All of the Calloway products were on display including their new drivers. Impressive. The VFT irons, however, were what caught my eye first and ultimately, last. First they are very beautiful clubs. I had set of X-12's and tried the X-16s but the VFTs were just plain easier to hit. The weighted heads allow the club to drop easily into the slot and produce a smooth, straight ball flight. The ball comes off cleanly with a pure "click". I get or got that "click" only once in a great while with the X-12s. Distance is superb. I am told the VFTs are built with the loft a little stronger than whatever standard is. I noted little or no difference between the graphite and the steel, but in the interest of age, vibration (of which, there is none), I opted for the graphite. The finish on the clubs is excellent. Each club gives the impression of a fine piece of workmanship. Even the way the clubs were boxed was impressive. Summary: The VFTs are possibly Calloway's best club yet. They seem to be a club for anyone just starting, who wants to have instant success and for the guy who has played a while. And while I can only speak to my level of expertise - 14 handicap - I can imagine that straight, true and long have to be criteria for all golfers regardless of skill level.
Cons: Frankly, Calloway is so proud of these sticks that they put a price on them which will take your breath way at first glance. But the customer support I have recieved thus far has been tremendous. Calloway didn't blink when I asked for a full fitting and slightly non-standard features, such as grip size.
Quality: First rate. Calloway makes a fine, fine product. The details of each club are perfect. I went over each and every club with a fine toothed comb looking for any flaw. I couldn't find mistake one. There wasn't even so much as a glue smudge near the hosel.

Review Summary: An excellent purchase. While the initial price might put some off, putting these clubs into your hands will change your mind about price. This is a quality product which produces quality results. Regardless of what type of ball I hit, I get consistent results. I know that when I step to the ball, that the hit will be solid and crisp. I will have these sticks in my bag for a very long time to come.
