Purchase: I purchased these clubs after going to Second Swing golf in Brookfield, WI. with the intent of buying Ping irons. I tried out both the Ping I-3 and the Callaway X 16 irons and found the Callaways to have a much more solid feel to them. Before going to the store I was sure that I liked the Ping I-3 irons and that was the way to go until hitting both clubs and seeing the result. For the Callaway X 16 irons with steel shafts 3-wedge I paid $659.00.
Pros: I like the top line look of these clubs over prior Callaway irons I have owned. They are extrememly solid in their feel and easily get the ball up into the air. I switched from Wilson Deep Red irons to these and find the Callaways to be more accurate. The long irons are extremely easy to hit and are quite accurate.
Cons: I have found the Callaways to be accurate and easy to hit but distance wise I have found them to be about 5-10 yards shorter than my Wilson Deep Red irons. I also don't care for the pitching wedge because of the rounded bottom edge of the head. It seems to catch up in rough and turn the hosel over in chips around the green.
Quality: The quality of the Callaway X 16 is first rate and compares with any club that I have owned. The overall look of the club is very eye catching.

Review Summary: Callaway X 16 irons are great. The pitching wedge could be tweaked and made better. But for a low to mid range handicapper I could not more highly recommend these irons.
