Purchase: I have always been wanting to go to the next level in my golf game. I have had a custom made set for the last 10 years and been looking for a change. I'm active duty military and a 20 handicap and don't get out on the course but once a month. While I was deployed my wife surprise me with a pre-owned set of Callaway X-14 irons from ebay for $500.00.
Pros: For the last year I have been very happy with the feel of the Callaway X-14 irons. I have the confidence of hitting the ball with more power and accurracy. Being that this is my first set of Callaway's I can't compare it with other Callaway models. With being a beginner with Callaway irons I enjoy the game with great shots.
Cons: Callaway has excellent products. The Callaway X-14 are a 2000 model. With the latest in golf technology I feel that the Callaway Steelhead X-16 irons is the best irons in the market today. So other than it being an older model, that is the only thing I don't like about the Callaway X-14 irons.
Quality: The quality of the Callaway X-14 at first was disappointing with the medalion of my 7 iron coming off after my first use. But after calling the Callaway customer center and sending another medalion the iron construction and quality have been outstanding with being in all types of weather conditions.

Review Summary: I feel that the game of golf is a challenging sport. In order to be successful in the game you need to have the discipline to practice every part of the game, from your driver, iron play, and putting. In order to enjoy the game over and over you need the right equipment. I enjoy the game more with my Callaway irons and with the opportunity to play with the top of the line set of Callaway X-16 I would like to continue my success with performance benefits offered by the X-16 that can be enjoyed by a higher-handicap golfer.
