Purchase: I'm a high handicapper player, but wanted a brand name set of irons that would stay with me as I get better at the game. I bought this set 3-PW at Dicks Sporting Goods store for the price of 399.00
Pros: The first thing I liked was the way the clubs looked. I thought the weight and how the clubs felt swinging them was great. The off-set angle allows me to get the ball up into the air much easier than some of other clubs that I have tried. The grips are comfortable and still show no signs of wear.
Cons: I have yet to find anything about these irons that I dislike.
Quality: I'm very pleased with the over all make of the clubs. I have the steel shafts. The face seems to be durable and showing very little wear.

Review Summary: As a fairly new player ( 1 year ) these clubs were just what I needed to start enjoying the game. The forgivness and the added distance that they have given me has not only improved my game, but has given my confidents level a boost. I believe that this set of irons will be with me for a good long time, they are just that easy to hit and they keep the ball in play.

Purchase: I puchased the set at my old club in Memphis. An older member had ordered them, didn't like them (after only a single round) so I ended up getting them for a great price....
Pros: These are very nice irons. I have an unusual swing ( I play one-handed due to an injury), and these seem to be the easiest hitting irons I've ever hit - much better than the '02 Big Bertha irons. The lite flex graphite shafts fit my swingspeed perfectly (I'm at around 80 mph), and these are the first set of graphite shafted irons that allow me to draw the ball when I need to. These are a great set of clubs!
Cons: nothing - I'm keeping this set!
Quality: Fantastic quality - What else would you expect from Callaway

Review Summary: If you're in the market for an awesome set of irons - consider the X-14s. You can even pick them up for a pretty good price right now!

Purchase: I bought them from ebay for 350 seeing how callawaypreowned was selling them for atleast 100 more.
Pros: These clubs look handsome and the feel at impact. Ed: These units feature the consistent weight steel shafts.
Cons: the club requires you to swing really hard and it's hard hitting them dead straight. i usually get a fade or draw in my shots.
Quality: the grip on my 3 iron ripped but overall, these are handsome clubs

Review Summary: callaways have really over priced clubs that are overrated. if i could get back my money, i would try to get some titleists or pings. like they say, the clubs are only as good as you are.

Purchase: These came about in my quest for the perfect irons for the mid-handicapper search. One of the guys in my regular Sunday foursome played the X-14 Pro-Series w/ Rifle shafts, I played a couple of rounds with them a decided the X-14 Steelhead with a little more offset would be in order for me. I acquired a demo set from an online auction (2-GW) for $520.
Pros: Four words sum up the quality traits of these irons, VERY forgiving, VERY straight. Slight mishits still get respectable distance and stay online. The long irons are easy to hit from almost any lie due to a fair width sole, and getting the ball airborne is almost effortless. The irons look good at setup, and are easy to align.
Cons: Well now for the downfalls......First and foremost is the lack of consistent distance control, which is crucial, especially in short irons. In my experience it is directly attributable to the CWS (Constant Weight Steel) shafts. These shafts are supposed to fall in between regular and stiff flex and have a "variable kick point" I would recommend going with the DG shafts if you can find them. Also, ball trajectory is a bit higher than I like, if you have a problem getting the ball in the air they are perfect, if this is not a problem then you will find the trajectory a bit high which can wreak havoc in windy conditions. This leads me to my final gripe, lack of feel and lack of workability. Off center shots have almost the same "flushed" feeling as shots hit in the sweet spot. Trying to knock the ball down in the wind or varying the trajectory by moving the ball back in your stance is almost impossible.
Quality: The X-14's are well made, and probably the most attractive iron Callaway has produced, and the Callaway Winn grips feel great.

Review Summary: All said and done, Callaway has a good purpose built iron. However, I believe the target group would be beginners and higher handicappers. Middle of the road players who are looking to improve will find these exceptionally easy to hit, but these will not be the clubs to help you take your game to the next level.
