Purchase: I purchased a set of Calloway X-16 Irons w/ steel shafts from Inverness Country Club in Toledo, Ohio. I did pay full retail for the clubs however, the assistant golf pro spent approximately 90 minutes with me during the fitting process and gave me a lesson. I previously played with a set of Big Bertha Irons that I loved but had grown out of. There was no doubt in my mind that I was going to stay with Calloway Clubs!
Pros: The feel of the X-16's are incredible. If you have a decent swing the club will do alot of the work for you. I will almost guarantee that the X-16's will take strokes off of your game. The X-16's give me the ability to have more control over the golf ball and add distance to my shots. I loved my Big Bertha's but now I couldn't imagine using them again!
Cons: The only drawback of the X-16's are the price. Granted they almost half the price of what you could pay for some golf clubs but for the avg. golfer they are an investment. I purchased my Big Bertha's straight from the rack and got the usual discount that most Golf stores offer. I knew going in to this set that I would pay full retail but I feel very confident that the custom fitting and advice are well worth the money.
Quality: These clubs are not just funtional, they are great looking. In my oppinion Calloway makes some of the finest golf equipment in the world. I'm a Calloway man in and out (except for my Titl. 983E driver).

Review Summary: The X-16's are great for the average golfer who is looking for a quality set of clubs that will improve their game. They feel great, look good and work even better. I've read a hundred reviews before I purchased but one swing of the club will make the decision for you. Two thumbs up!
