Details: Uniflex Steel Shaft

Purchase: Bought off of Ebay for $650.00, had been hitting some Ram FX Tour clubs(whicj I liked) for a couple years and wanted to upgrade.
Pros: These clubs are beautifully made. Well balanced.
Cons: Went from Graphite shafts back to steel and also thes clubs a quite a bit thivker top line than my old clubs. Took awhile to adjust to both these items but since I have no problems..Still struggling a little hitting 5 and longer clubs but coming along. This wasn't and issue before.
Quality: Built great, awesome quality.

Review Summary: I really like the clubs, still adjusting a little bit but getting better every week. The set consists of 3 thru P and I added the x-18 Sand and Lob Wedges.. All in all I love the clubs and am getting very confident with them.. I have shaved a few strokes off my score and hope to continue to..Went from hitting 102-108 to hitting 97-99 constantly.. And getting better. Lots of chances and long putts for Birdie and almost every hole having a chance at par. Blowing my putts or chip mostly.

Details: Standard Loft/Lie with standard length Uniflex Steel Shafts.

Purchase: Golf Galaxy, $699, plus tax. I generally buy components and put together my own clubs but wanted to try some commercial irons.
Pros: Love the look of the clubs. They perform well also, good distance and very solid feel. Shafts are too whippy, this is the first time I have swung anything but DG S300 in my irons. They have a bit more lag than I am used to. I could actually swing a little easier and get the same distance as my previous set. When I swing hard I get more distance but a substancial draw. The lofts are great and I can get the ball up very fast. Clubheads are great. I actually hit the X18 as well as the fusion heads and they are cheaper.
Cons: I have to concentrate hard on not swinging hard. The Uniflex shaft is ok, but it is a bit whippy for my swing. When I swing them as hard as I swing other clubs in my bag I get a big draw. I have a really hard time getting any fade out of them.
Quality: Top quality, which is what I would expect out of Calloway.

Review Summary: Great clubhead. Perfect for average swing speed. What out for the shaft selection though. If you have above average swing speed, don't even consider the Uniflex shafts. I was a little infatuated over the 200 yard distance on the 6-iron and thought I would be able to straighten it out once I got used to it, but wasn't able to.

Purchase: Callaway Golf Pre-Owned, like new for $650 for 3-9, PW 46º, SW 56º
Pros: These are very easy to hit iron’s that give you so much confidence out on the golf course. Much like all the Game Improvement or Super Game Improvement Iron’s on the market now, these are very forgiving for mis-hits off the toe. But unlike the BB’04’s that I had, these have a lower trajectory which is what I was looking for. Also, the Stock Uniflex Shaft are very good.
Cons: 4 Words… Callaway Stock Grips Stink
Quality: As with most things Callaway, the construction is top notch as is their customer service

Review Summary: Maybe it’s the “New Clubs” affect, maybe it’s the next logical progression in my golf equipment / golf game, but I love these clubs and played so well with them. I purchased these clubs to “upgrade” from my Big Bertha 2004’s which I loved. My only complaint with the BB04’s that caused me to start looking for new clubs was the ball flight was way to high and the wind affected my shots too much. Wehn I first purchased the BB04's I didn't care so much about that, as all I cared about was not skulling it and hitting it straight. I was uncomfortable moving from my “Super” Game Improvement Irons (which were like a security blanket in my golf bag) and giving up all the forgiveness for something that seemed a bit more demanding, and what the short term impact it would have on my game. I was so wrong, these irons are everything the Big Bertha 04’s were and more. They seem to be just as forgiving, just as easy to hit, but have a lower ball flight. Also, I said welcome back to my divots with these irons, as the BB’04’s seemed to just burn the ground instead of taking a divot.

Purchase: I bought these clubs from a black man off the street. I paid him $52.00. He was very poor and said he need the money so he could get some food. He didnt look much like a golfer but I didnt ask any questions.
Pros: I love these clubs so much. They have any amazing feel to them. The first time I hit them I nearly jizzed in my pants. I cant wait to take these clubs home and make sweet love to them all night. I can honesty say that these clubs have saved me 10 strokes a round and they also saved my life. A fat raccoon nearly bit off my ear but i used the 9 iron to whack it across the fairway into the pond. Man what a feeling. If I were a golf club i would want to be an x-18 becasue then I know that I would be sweet and could pimp out all the other shit clubs in the bag. Right now all i can think about is the sweet feeling of my x-18's and how they feel next to me in bed.
Cons: What I dont like about these clubs is that they almost make me to good. When I play sometimes i beat my oponents so bad that it makes them cry. I also feel that my x-18's are to violent sometimes. I once was walking down the street with my x-18's and they tried to throw me under a bus for looking at them wrong. Overall i think that my x-18's have a small anger management problem.
Quality: My x-18's are made with the finest materials. They were built by a buddist monk and hand smelted then trained in the martial arts for three years.

Review Summary: The bottom line is that if everyone owned x-18's the world would be filled with peace. My final words are that I dont think that I could go on living if i lost my x-18's they keep me centered and are my best friends. I truly believe that my x-18's have magical powers and the ability to solve any problem. I can only thank callaway and the black man on the corner for lowering my handicap 4 points and giving me a friend for life. I Love you x-18's i sorry please dont bemad that i went to that demo day last saturday. I didnt mean anything and i hope you will forgive me. Maybe we can go out tonight and get some drinks and work things out

Purchase: Ebay
Pros: looks
Cons: The heavy club head gives a dead head feel. Bad shots feel solid but, travel only a short distance.
Quality: The quality of these clubs is A-1

Review Summary: I have always felt I can adjust to whatever I have in my hands. Maybe time will do the same for these X-18s. But right out of the gate, the inconsistent distances concern me.

Purchase: These clubs actually belong to a buddy of mine who is a nine handicap and wants to offload them because he "keeps chunking the ball". He is going back to his Beryllium Ping Eyes. This set of X-18s came with stiff flex graphite shafts and he payed $899 for them.
Pros: Good looks and great reputation. Maybe you need to hit the ball really pure to benefit from these clubs. I don't, at least not consistently, being a 16 hcp.
Cons: I played two rounds with these irons plus hit a large bucket and I must say I was very underwhelmed. Maybe it was the shaft weight but it felt like I was swinging something very light and as a result I felt the need to swing harder. I did not make consistent contact which was probably due to my altered swing but my biggest complaint was the yardage loss - I was 10 to 20 yards shorter even when I nailed the ball clean and straight.
Quality: No complaints here at all - typical Callaway product

Review Summary: I've always liked steel shafts on my irons and I don't think the stiff flex suited my typical 85 - 90 mph swing speed either. Even if I were to get the right shaft though, I have a feeling that the X-18s are just too "high performance" for my game. I had read a lot of rave reports about the X-18s but maybe they are from the guys who are low handicappers. I would like to read evaluations of these irons from people in the 15 to 25 hcp range.

Purchase: I bought these at my local golf store for $1000 canadian!
Pros: Wow these are great clubs!I had the Big berthas last year and Honestly the forgiveness is about the same but the workabilty and playability are phenominal!Great feel coming off the club face and easy to hit!Plus these are best looking clubs on the market by far!I tried every other iron available and price was no object for me but the x-18s felt the best by far!Compared to the supposed #1 club the ping g2 these clubs were twice as good!
Cons: nothing
Quality: All i have to say is go to your local golf store and look at these they are beaituful and as usual Callaway craftmanship is amazing!Hot looking club!

Review Summary: The bottom line is for me i tried every iron out there and kept going back to these!By the way we all see how phil michelson is doing this year well he is using just about an exact copy of the x-18 called the hxtour so what more do i need to say!get out and buy these babies!!!!!

Purchase: Las Vegas Callaway Golf Center. $630. I was playing X-12 pro series and got fitted. The fitter recommended these and I decided to make the switch.
Pros: Straight. Very straight.
Cons: You can't work them much but that is not as big a problem if you are buying these clubs. Unfortunately, I do like to work the ball. Also, these clubs are at a D-2 swingweight but are significantly heavier than my X-12's (also D-2). I was very suprised to be 10-15 yards shorter every club and I could not "feel" the clubhead due to the extra weight. The ball was going right at the pin but never got there. Note, I am a high ball hitter and my ball flight went even higher after the fitting. I had the X-12 pro series for that very reason. The fitter worked on this but we could not get my launch angle down.
Quality: Callaway makes great clubs. This is no exception.

Review Summary: In the end, I can not recommend these clubs for high ball hitters. I write this for guys like me because I wish I had known this and not wasted my time. If you hit the ball to high look elsewhere. Ironically, I borrowed my friends Callaway Fusions with a graphite firm shaft and hit them further, on a perfect trajectory (more boring), and worked them left or right with ease. Expensive but those are my next irons.
