On 2009-07-31, prov1tony rated this Callaway Heavenwood 4H a 5...(8485)

Details: My club is a 4 hybrid 23 degree loft with a stock red shaft RHW 75w shaft. That is the standard shaft for the heavenwood and comes in light, regular, and firm flex. I chose the firm flex with a standard Lamkin pro grip.

Purchase: I bought my club off of the Callaway web site for $60 dollars in excellent shape. I can not tell it was used before and it came with a 90 day guarantee that if I decide I do not like it I can return it for my money back. Can't beat that deal.
Pros: The club is a great addition to my set. I already have the 3H so I knew I would like it before I bought it. The club is easy for me to control distance with. I have a range of 85 yards to 205 yards with this club. It is easy to control ball flight but you want to be careful getting to steep with this club or you will have a miss. The shaft is short at 39' and took a while to get used to. It is very light and with the short length it is easy to get carried away. A smooth easy swing is best for this club. I love hitting out of the rough with this club it slides though the rough real easy and gives you good loft without having to get too steep. So for me it is an easier shot to hit. The club head is pretty small as hybrids go and has a ridge going down the middle that puts more weight where you want it and keeps the head from getting caught up in the rough. I love the guarantee on the Callaway preowned site.
Cons: The only thing that really gave me a problem was the short shaft but once I got used to it I actually like it. So no real complaints.
Quality: The is a solid club. I have had my 3H for about a year and it still looks like new. This club holds in the Callaway tradition of excellent quality clubs.

Review Summary: This is an older generation club and so some would argue it is better to use the newer technology in clubs available today. But when you find something that works well for you and this does for me you have to stick with it. The price of my club was on the high side at 60 dollars but still a great bargain. They had others for as low as 30 dollars but this one was in new condition. I highly recommend this club for anyone looking to replace their 4 iron with a more versatile club.
