On 2003-09-11, E. Burrows rated this Cleveland 400 Launcher Ti 300cc a 5...(2284)
Purchase: I live in Midland, Tx and our "muni" had a vendors demo day. I had the day off and decited to go to "another" demo day and try out some drivers, since I knew for a fact my problems on the course were my equipment not me! Anyway, after trying out the top "3" I got a glimpse at the new Cleveland Launcher and something inside said this might be the one, then I figured that voice was probably my breakfeast buritto talking...anyway I picked on up and hit my first ball over 300 yards...STRAIGHT. A fluke I'm sure, then I hit a couple dozen more balls with almost the exact same result. By then a small crowd of my golf buddies came over and asked if I'd finally taken more lessons. The rep gave me the three metal and said try this, after another dozen (resting often) the rep wasn't sure which one was going the longest. I again went back to the top"3" brands thinking it was the "nner golf" n me doing these feats...NOT. I paid $385.00 + tx. PS my wife has finally talked me into leaving it in the bag at night instead of in bed next to me.
Pros: I have been playing seriously for approximately 9 years now and have bought probably one driver each of these years. Knowing my problems on the course were related to my equipment, not me! I am 6'+ tall and weigh 250 and tend to swing a litttttle too hard so I must revert to stiff shafts. Until now the stiff shafts didn't seem to control my "power fade" or my "power draws", but for what ever reason the "S" flex shaft and the 300cc head compensate for my not so perfect swing.
Cons: What I don't like about this club is that it took me or Cleveland this long to find it.
Quality: The Cleveland Launcher 400 Ti Driver with the "S"shaft, are the perfect marriage of technology and materials. Nothing would I change, but I'm just a lowly amateur who now hits longer (280+yrds.) and straighter drives than I've ever been able to with some of the top "3" drivers. I say top "3", I mean Titleist/Taylor Made/Calloway
Review Summary: Being a amateur golfer with a 17/20 handicap now being able to hit more fairways and being only a short wedge out, is a pretty good feeling. I am now after using this driver for 2 months, lowering my handicap and enjoying the pleasure of the same golf ball I started out with.
