On 2008-02-20, DON rated this Cleveland 460 Launcher Comp a 5...(8023)

Details: 460cc 10.5* driver, factory R flex shaft. I got it used.

Purchase: I got this driver from Golfsmith on sale for $63. I was on their site to buy a non-conforming HiBore XL, and when I saw this driver to that price, I decided to buy both. I wanted a S flex shaft, but it wasn't available, and I intended to re-shaft anyway, so I got the R flex. The purpose of buying this driver was to compare it to the XL and to use for testing different shafts in the future.
Pros: When this driver came out a few years ago. it was reported to be one of if not the longest drivers you could buy. It was also reported to be quite foregiving. Two things that most golfers look for in a driver. I've only hit this driver at the range one day, but as far as I can tell, it lives up to those reports. It's very long, and easy to hit well
Cons: About the only thing I don't like about this driver is the shaft being R flex. It's not much softer than the S flex shafts in my other drivers, but enough to cause some lose of control. This is in no way a fault of the shaft, but a fault of it not fitting my swing.
Quality: Quality and construction is as good as any other driver. Nothing wrong at all.

Review Summary: If you are looking for a long, foregiving driver this one is well worth checking out. If you don't want to spend a lot of money for a driver, this one is really worth buying. The driver was sold as 'pre-owned' with no head cover, but the one I received was like new, with only a few small marks on the bottom of the head from the head touching the grass when used. Nothing you wouldn't see if you played 18 holes with a brand new driver. I also found a like new Comp head cover at a local Golfsmith for $5, so a lack of head cover isn't a real issue. Bottom line is this is a great driver, especially for the money. If you can't keep up with your foursome with this driver, don't blame the driver, it's your fault.

Purchase: I tried it a pro golf in peru IL i paid about $400
Pros: the controle is excellent and you need very little club speed to crank the ball though that did take some getting used to
Cons: the carbone fiber on the top of the club seperates from the face I've whent through two of these clubs but clevland stands behind there clubs and you pretty much just get a new one twice a year for free
Quality: it is the lightest club in my bag great other that what i previusly stated

Review Summary: THis is a great club if you are a serious golfer due to the price tag not realy an exstremly easy club to hit but when you get used to it it rockets the ball i have one to torneys since buying an both long drives in those one at 339 and 354 so the club has paid for its self
