Purchase: Paid $200 us on ebay new! I played a round wiht a kid who out drove me by 30-50 yards. I couldn't understand it, my swing speed is much faster, my mizuno blue rage was failing me miserably.
Pros: I have hit the 400's with grafalloy s shaft and the aldila nv s. WOW what can I say! It's the dead of winter here in Canada and I carried the ball 250+. Very forgiving club I only lost around 20 yards on off hits. Both shafts are great if you are a big swinger I would suggest the grafalloy blue but either will do! That kid had better watch out! :)
Cons: Absolutely nothing!
Quality: high quallity seamless construction.

Review Summary: Absolutely the best driver/shaft combination out there. I have played callaway, mizuno, ping, and cobra... This is far superior!

Purchase: I bought this driver at a driving range for $300. I tried it in comparison to all of the other large brand name drivers and loved teh firm feel this driver produced.
Pros: This driver has a very solid feel that gives you an immediate feedback on how well you connected with the ball, as a low handicap player this is invaluable. Also the construction of this club is very solid and high quality.
Cons: My only qualm about this club is that it is not as forgiving as some of the other clubs on the market, however the cleveland launcher 460 is more forgiving.
Quality: the titanium face of this club is high quality as is the rest of the head. the stock stiff shaft that i have in mine is also very excellant and plays liek an exotic shaft.

Review Summary: this is a great club that i would recommend for better players, for higher handicap golfers i would recommend that they try the 460 for added forgiveness.

Purchase: I bought this driver at a local shop. It had been used for one round. I got the club for $200!
Pros: I love this driver!! I actually tried the launcher 460 which was nice, but the face was too hot. With the 400 I still get great distance and control. Shots off the toe and heel still go a long way. Anytime you can confidnetly pull the driver, you know you've got a keeper!
Cons: The club design itself is very classic, which is nice but is kind of boring.
Quality: The quality of this club is second to none. The chrome finish cleans up very easily and the headcover looks great.

Review Summary: Great club. Great price. No-Brainer.

Purchase: Demo's a 8.5 with a Fujikura stiff and a 8.5* stiff with a Grafalloy stiff.
Pros: I liked the Grafalloy shaft much better than the Fujikura. The Grafalloy shaft gave better feedback and provided a lower flight. The club is classic looking but and forgivable.
Cons: Being a 3 handicap and a high ball hitter I did not like the very high trajectory. I had a tendency to lose the ball right with the Fujikura shaft. The Grafalloy tended to correct this problem but the flight was still too high.
Quality: Quality I guess was good cannot tell till after you hit a club for over several months. I did like the fact that the club did not look 400 cc.

Review Summary: I think this club would be a great addition to most golfers but I decided to go with the Cobra 400 Tour with a Grafalloy stiff.

Purchase: Purhased at Mammoth Golf in Columbia, MD for $360 I beleive. Purchased after hitting about 12 of the top drivers on thier launch monitor. My goal was to purchase a club that I didn't have to later adjust by replacing the shaft or having the swing weight adjusted.
Pros: The shaft in my launcher, Graffalloy Blue, is excellent. My swing speed is around 113 with a driver and the stiffness of the blue is perfect. The combination of the clean head design and the graffalloy shaft provided me with a much better launch angle and carry than the other clubs (Taylor Made, Wilson, Titleist and Cobra) without hitting moon balls with no roll on fast fairways. Although the head feels solid, it doesn't feel as solid as the Titleist line of drivers - however, the forgiveness more than offsets that feeling compared to the lack of forgiveness in the titleist drivers on off center hits.
Cons: My only wish is that the top of the driver had some alighnment aid - an arrow or other mark. It's not a big deal as the face is easy to align to my eye, it's just a preference. To my eye the Taylor Made's always seem to look closed - this sets up well despite my wish.
Quality: I replaced the cleveland grip, felt too firm and started to loose it's tackiness quicly. I prefer Golf Pride Tour Wrap Velvets. Again the head is excellent although it doesn't feel as hot as the titleist when launching a well hit ball.

Review Summary: I'm very happy with my purchase. 265+ carry and then roll when the east coast is not under water. Workable (fade/draw) and shaft/club combination are excellent. Head is terrific but could feel more solid - shaft is blue and draws alot of attention. Forgiveness is very good on offcenter hits. I'd recommend it.

Purchase: I bought the cleveland launcher 400 at the Golfsmith store in Atlanta because it is a great driver.
Pros: The huge head makes it hard to miss the sweet spot. I find it lighter than the 460 and it is easy to swing. Not to mention that gold shaft is a nice touch.
Cons: the only problem with this club is that if you heel it all the power dies you get a very bad hook.
Quality:

Review Summary: After the first time I hit it, it was like the first kiss from a beautiful woman. I bought it for $300 and I have consistantly hit it long and straight. I have almost become a three club player Driver, Wedge, Putter.

Purchase: A demo from pro golf discount in simi valley ca.
Pros: good distance. hot face. ball popped off the face very well.
Cons: off center hits were not as forgiving as the taylor made r580 demo that I was also hitting side by side with it. They had similiar distance. the main difference in these two clubs was the forgiveness of the off center hits. Aside from more shots staying in play from the taylor made you could feel more torque and vibration in the launcher on misshits. The stock shaft on the cleveland launcher was nicer however but I bought the taylor made r580 for the forgiveness factor.
Quality: very nice shaft and hot face. balls popped off.

Review Summary: the laucher and r580 were about the same price. both hit the ball a ton. however the difference betwwen the two was in the incredible forgiveness of the taylor made driver. the laucher is a great club and is definately worth the money as compare to others in its price range. However, the r580 has the most forgiving ability of any club that I have hit. depending on how much you can either of these two drivers for, I would choose the r580 if the price was close.

Purchase: I purchased the Cleveland Launcher 400 at a Chicago golf shop for $300, and wow was it ever worth it. I wanted to get this driver ever since i saw a rather skinny 16 year old hit this driver around 280 on the fly and almost hit the green on a par 4. So I went and bought it to try and get more distance and accuracy in my drives.
Pros: I love the feel of this driver and the shape. The sheer shape and size of this driver gives you the confidence you need to hit the fairway everytime. Ever since I got this club I have been driving the ball about 30 yards farther (from then, (230-260) to now,(260-290) and my accuracy has gone up as well because the driver I have has a 3* closed face to really help out the frequent slice i used to have.
Cons: I dont really have any dislikes about this club. It has really been a great help to my game and has given me confidence in what I can do when i step up to the tee.
Quality: The quality is amazing with the indestructable face and the great weighting on the club

Review Summary: This club will give you confidence when you step up to the tee and it will also give you greater distance and better accuracy if you are a mid to high handicapper.

Purchase: I went into my local pro shop to get fitted for the new Ping 3Si and decided to demo a few drivers out of curiosity while I waited. To my surprise, the Cleveland ended up having the feel I was looking for in a driver. $400.00 Cdn later, this mid handi-capper was out the door and off to the course, leaving a confused ping fitter in my dust.
Pros: Despite being the size of a mukluk, the driver is well balanced and easy to get on plane, making it remarkably easy to make solid contact with the ball. The sensation of the ball exploding off the face is pure magic with an invigorating audible clank that lets your buddies know when you’ve nailed one. Ball flight is high and uneventful with a long carry. I hate when the adds tell me that I will gain unbelievable yardage with their new product but this driver really did give me an additional 20 yards off the Tee. Miss hits are still long and remain close to the fairway. The coolest thing though is the sparks that the titanium base produces when you scuff a few practice swings on a sandy T-box(I think Cleveland intentionally does this so grandstanders like me will have to buy a new driver sooner).
Cons: I normally hit a high fade with the odd slice. If you have a natural high trajectory, go with at least 1-2 degrees less loft than you normally hit. My old driver was a 10 deg Callaway, so I got the 9.5 deg Launcher with a stiff shaft thinking this would be the goods and now after a month, I wish I had got an 8 or an 8.5 deg instead. I spent the last 25 yrs learning how to hit draws and fades on command (or I like to think) and the Launcher has now taken that away – high, straight boring flights are now the norm (not a bad trade off though).
Quality: The pee-coloured shaft is downright hideous. Cool head cover though. Cleveland makes professional looking and well built products and the Launcher is no exception. I hope it lasts as long as my wedges!!!

Review Summary: Despite the adds you read, this club will not, nor any other club for that matter, magically correct your slice. Splurge for a lesson or two prior to your purchase (maybe you won't need a new driver after all) and don't buy a club without hitting some of it's competition first on an outdoor range. I am very happy with my “unplanned “ purchase and can now hardly wait for a set of TA7s to go on sale. I wonder if TA7s spark?

Purchase: I went to our local (San Diego) golf center where I know and trust one of the teaching pro's. Told him I was ready to join the 21st century and needed a driver. He pulled out a couple-dozen titanium drivers, had me hit several balls with each, and watched carefully. I never paid attention to (a) brand, (b) loft, or (c) price. I figured RESULTS were the only thing that counted. After an hour or so, by process of elimination, I ended up hitting about 5 "perfect" drives in a row with the Cleveland 400 Launcher. The pro and I both knew it. He just said, "There's your driver!" He was right.
Pros: I was playing in a 2-day tournament starting a couple of days later. In fact, I took the shrinkwrap off the driver on the first tee! Never had a bad drive throughtout the 2 days. For me (18 handicap), a good drive before averaged about 230 yards. Now virtually every drive is a good drive, and they go from 250 to 280 yards. So, in summary, "I'll take it!"
Cons: So far, nothing.
Quality: Fine

Review Summary: The right club for me.

Purchase: I acquired through Ebay and paid 230 dollars.
Pros: Excellent driver. Large sweetspot and very forgiving. Toe shots still give about 75%.
Cons: It's not very attractive.
Quality: Well made. I have no complaints about the product.

Review Summary: Would recommend the driver. Easy to hit and very forgiving.

Purchase: I baught this driver at a local golf store after testing the Great Big Bertha II, TaylorMade 580, and the Cobra 427. I paid $279 for it.
Pros: The best thing about this club is the feel. The ball just shoots off the face and it feels almost too easy. Although the taylormade felt good also, the Cleveland was an all around better club. The accuracy is remarkable and as for distance, how's at least 220-230 on a mishit. Finally, the sound of the club is ridiculous. It sounds like a shotgun going off.
Cons: The only thing that shocked me at first was the gold shaft. It turned me off in the beginning, but after I started hitting the club a few times, the gold shaft was no longer a concern.
Quality: I've only had the club for 3 weeks so I can't really comment on the the construction. No problems yet though.

Review Summary: This club simply makes the game fun. I can't believe how easily I hit this club and how accurate it is. For all of you that are currently looking for a new driver just as I was about 3 weeks ago, I strongly recommend hitting several balls with a variety of clubs. But include the Cleveland Launcher 400 in that group......you won't be disappointed.

Purchase: I drove to a golf shop that was called the Franconia Country Club Pro Shop. I acquired the driver because all of my friends had it and i saw a lot of comercials for it and a lot of adds. I also liked the way it looked. I paid $300.00 for the driver.
Pros: I like a lot about the driver. I like how it is forgiving and how the head is so big. Since the head is so big it is hard to miss hit. When you miss hit the shot will go very far, even though you missed hit it. I also like the color of the shaft and the noise the driver makes when it hits the ball.
Cons: I dont really dislike anything about the driver. So swing away....
Quality: The driver seems like it will last a very long time. The face is all titanium and it wont really wear for low handicapers. But for high handicapers it might.

Review Summary: I think that the Cleveland Launcher is a very good driver. I suggest that you go out and get it at a store near you.

On 2003-03-31, Launcher fan rated this Cleveland Launcher 400 a 4...(1059)

Purchase: I got this from a local golf shop during a demo day when the cleveland tech van was out.
Pros: Long, easy to hit, forgiving
Cons: ball flight was simply too high with the stock fujikura shaft.
Quality: The Launcher 400 has been made with precision, everything on this is balanced to give you the most out of every drive.

Review Summary: I originally hit the Launcher in the stock fujikura stiff shaft, the kick point of the shaft was simply to high for my ball flight, so I had begun demo'ing other shaft combinations. The only shafts worth putting in this thing are either a graffaloy pro-lite, or the ust Proforce. The proforce is really nice because it's a low kickpoint shaft which causes lower ball flight, but it also has the stiff tip which when combined with a stiff shaft gives a good medium between stiff and a X. I hit this thing with the Proforce with an extra 15 yards of carry than I did with the stock.
