On 2002-09-06, Fresh rated this Cleveland TA-3 Form-Forged Irons Sensicore Steel Shafts a 4...(512)

Purchase: I bought the set (3-pw) at a local golf store after I hit them in the cage. I really liked the overall look and feel of the irons.
Pros: The heads are heavy, you can really tell where it is throughout the swing. The shafts dampen any vibration from an off-center hit. The Form-forged irons give you the soft, crisp feeling at impact and the consistency that lower-handicap players enjoy. With minimal offset, I can work the irons from draw-hook to fade-slice easily. A pure shot feels great and is very accurate. Another good benefit from the Form-Forged irons is that they are easily bent to your custom specs.
Cons: The lofts were really strong and I had a huge difference between my PW and Gap wedge. I was hitting between a club to a club and a half shorter, but I got them spaced 4 degrees apart and I am more consistent. Bad shots are not rewarded at all. Be sure to take the necessary practice time to get the total benefit from these clubs.
Quality: The irons are beautiful and perform like no other that I have played. They give me the confidence to play any shot that I need. When I hit a bad shot, I know that it was something I did and not the clubs.

Review Summary: Crisp, clean and beautiful sum up these irons. I recommend them to any one who feels that they can benefit from a minimal offset blade-style club. Make sure to hit these irons with the different shaft options to fit them to your game. You really need to be confident because swinging these with doubts will lead to bad feeling shots.
