Purchase: bought these clubs at colorado ski and golf for 299.00 3-pw with graphite shafts. Pros: most everything. i have a high trajectory naturally, and these clubs play well with that. they dont balloon, but they still get airborn easily even with a slower swingspeed. theyre very easy to work for cavity back irons, they have good distance, and theyre moderately forgiving on mishits despite a smaller clubhead. my swing speed with the irons is below 90 mph now and i have no problem hitting a 3 or even 2 iron (which i bought separately) Cons: i like the smaller clubhead because it makes the clubs more workable, however theyre marketed as a game improvement club, and that might be a bit misleading. im currently a 12 handicap, and back in my high teens to 20 handicap days these clubs wouldnt have worked too well for me. theyre definately made for mid to even lower handicap golfers. Quality: very well made. no complaints at all. Review Summary: i think these would be PERFECT clubs for the 5-15 handicapper. someone who wants some forgiveness but also workability. higher handicappers might prefer the launcher or ta-6 irons. for me, theyre ideal, though even playing to a 12 i must say there are rare occasions i wish i had a little wider sole for more forgiveness when i dont hit it as well. the trade for workability is worth it to me, but maybe not to others.

Purchase: In February of 2004 I purchased these irons for the discounted price of $329.99. Upon purchasing these irons, I also received a free TA-5 black stand bag. Pros: I am an 18 handicapper and these clubs are sure to get that number down this season. I usually make good contact with the ball and strike it in the middle of the club face. With my old irons, I lost yardage and accuracy on off center hits. With the TA-5's hitting the ball away from the center of the club means a loss of maybe 2 yards. These clubs are the easiest clubs to hit I've ever tried. Hitting the 3-iron is no longer a fear or a struggle. I just get up there and hit away. Cons: I like everything about these clubs except the fact that they scratch very easily. Everytime they bang against one another another scratch is created. As long as stay away from big rocks and such I should be okay. Quality: These clubs, again, scratch very easily. Everything else is fine. Review Summary: If you're looking for a new set of irons, try these clubs. The new TA-7's are probably even better, but I've never tried them. The TA-5's are phenomenal - but don't take my word for it: go out and try them yourself. On 2004-02-20, Wellen21 rated this Cleveland TA-5 a 4...(2882)
Purchase: I bought the clubs from a sporting goods store because my old clubs were old. I oaid $350. Pros: I love the butter like feel they have, yet even on misshits you get good feedback. I also like the thick top line, and the simple classic look. I hit my seven iron an easy 160. Cons: They claim to be easier to get the long irons airborne, but I can't tell a difference. Quality: The irons are a clean no nonsense look, very well designed. Review Summary: Bottom line this club is a nice club to go to from a cloned set (high handicap). I wouldn't recomend these clubs if you break 85 regularly. On 2003-07-10, chagrin falls rated this Cleveland TA-5 a 5...(1752)
Purchase: i bought this type of irons because i was in need of new ones. i went to golf galaxy in mayfield, ohio and they were very nice. they evn gave me about a $100 discount. they are very nice and willing to except any offer or lower price than the one that they have. its called price match guarented. i ended up paying about $399, and its baiscally $500 anyplace else.
Pros: they have great feel last a long time and go quite far. they are the best club i have have ever owned. if you buy a set you will not be dissappointed. i tried out 10 other sets including callaway's and titleis and cleveland is second to none. Cons: i like everything about this club. no complaints. Quality: very good metal and you can see the great craftsmanship of the club. Review Summary: i would give it a 10 out of 10. no better club. very reasonable price. best clubi ever hit. the cleveland ta-5 are by far the best club ive used. no match. Purchase: I acquired these clubs as a slightly used set from a local golf retailer named Golf Discount of Oklahoma.I hit a few balls into their net and liked the feel the clubs had.I also liked the gun-metal finish.I paid $300.00 dollars for the set and felt it was a good deal. Pros: The feel of the clubs are solid and the control is good.Again, the look of the clubs are real sharp and unique with it's gun metal finish. I was hoping that the cavity back would improve my fade and it has , but not as much as hoped. The grips are adequate ( velvet ) but I have replaced the 3 iron with a winn type grip soft feel. Cons: I have not been pleased with the distance I get with these irons as it seems I need to club up compared to my previous set of blades. The cavity back has straighted some shots but not as well as hoped. Also, it seems these clubs are a bit heavy after playing them a while. This may also account for a lack of distance I'm getting thru slower club head speed.Stock grips could be better. Quality: Solid and well constucted.Unique finish. Review Summary: Overall, not a bad set of irons. I still may look at something else if my game shows no improvement soon.Maybe I should try the new Ta-7's or even the Blade Ta-3's.
