Details: S300 steel shafts

Purchase: I've owned Cleveland TA7s for a few years, and while their quality was excellent, I tended to hit the ball rather high. I also could not get used to the offset and thick topline. While at a 2nd Swing store in Westland,MI I was interested in more of a tour blade. I saw a set of TA2's for $289 and started swinging them, they felt great!
Pros: I obviously like the looks of the club (a smaller version of the TA7s). I'm able to keep the ball lower with these also. With the TA7s I struggled to hit those low shots needed under trees. The TA2s are a very solid feeling golf club. Even when I hit a thin shot, it doesn't feel that bad. The TA2s may not feel as soft as the new CMM material in the new Cleveland irons, but I like the so called 'harsh' feel of them. Virtually every golf shot with the TA2s feels very solidly struck.
Cons: I've played over 10 rounds with them in temperatures ranging from 48 degrees F to 80 degrees F and I can't find any faults yet.
Quality: Both sets of irons that I've owned from Cleveland has been excellent. Even though this set of TA2s was used, it looked almost new. All of the paint on each iron is still like new. Their were very few nicks toward the toe of the clubs, but I got those with my TA7s also. The True Temper S300 shafts are always the same, very dependable. For the price, I'm very pleased.

Review Summary: Before making this purchase I hit several irons including Mizuno MP-60s, Cleveland CG2s, Cleveland CG4 Tours, and Callaway XTour irons. I was not really looking at the TA2s because they were outdated. I don't think I could be happier with a newer set of sticks, these just feel great for me. I'm glad that Cleveland stepped away from the VAS irons of Corey Pavin fame, and decided to compete with other Tour Blades.

Purchase: I bought them from Golfsmith, paid $500.
Pros: The main thing I like about these irons is the feel. Impact is very soft, and you can tell its a very solid club. Also, these irons have minimal offset, which works great for my game. They also have a great, classic appearance, setting up to the ball really nice. It doesn't look like you are swinging a brick, like a lot of other modern sets look. It is very easy to work the ball with these irons. The look and feel of a real player's club, yet easier to hit than a straight blade.
Cons: Nothing, these are the best irons I have ever hit.
Quality: Very durable, simply an extremely solid set of irons. May take a bit of getting used to if you are used to irons with more offset. They are also built to give higher trajectories on long irons and lower, boaring trajectories for short irons...and it shows.

Review Summary: This is a very great set of irons. The best irons I have ever hit.

Purchase: I had purchased a set of RAC OS last year and found them to be fairly good clubs if you wanted straight and high shots. I searched and tested a lot of irons and found the TA2's to be the best I tried. I traded the RAC's in on the TA2's so price is irrelevant. Ping, Wilson, 05 Rac lt's, nothing compared.A players club is what I wanted and that is what I got.
Pros: I have never hit an iron that has this much beautiful feel to it. The 8620 soft carbon steel has a priceless feel when hit sweet and also pretty nice on mishits though a bit of distance is lost. I can fade, draw, and knockdown with confidence with these irons. The short irons see the pin and want to hug it. Buttery feel with good golf balls and good feel with rocks.Appearance is beautiful and set up the same.
Cons: Absolutely nothing!
Quality: Appearance great, there is many grip and shaft options( I got the Rifle 6.5's put in mine) and a progressive offset, though minimal, from 3 to PW. These have to be tried to believe what I am saying.

Review Summary: I would, like some others, tell you to try these great irons before you buy any others. Cleveland has done a great job with the TA2's and people serious about golf should be using these. The wedges are not the only great feeling club Cleveland has.A 12 and under handicap will truely benefit from using these. The TA2's are tops in my book!

Purchase: I purchased these from Golf USA for $400 after trading in my TA7s. While reasonably happy with the TA7s, I wanted a thinner topline and more workability. I shopped around extensively before making this purchase and considered Taylor Made RAC, Titleist, Hogan, and Ping. I'm convinced that Cleveland has the best fitting system in the industry.
Pros: I'm an 8 HDCP, and while no expert at it, I enjoy trying to work the ball. This set is the best compromise I've found yet for workability and forgiveness. The head size is slightly larger than blade clubs but the topline is no thicker and the transition from hosel to head looks classic as opposed to the massive garden tool look found on most game improvement irons. I'm pleasantly surprised by the trajectory on the long irons and the control with the short irons. I've lost about a 1/2 club length compared to both the TA7s and Pings but distances on well struck balls are more consistent.
Cons: There's nothing I dislike but there are a few things I'd 'adjust' if I were able. I'd like just a skosh more offset and slightly wider sole in the 3-5 irons (6-W are perfect), and a touch more rounded sole.
Quality: Construction and quality are outstanding. I was concerned about bag marks with the softer metal, but they don't seem to be picking them up as fast as my old Hogan Apex blades did. Additionally, the softer metal allows for easier fine tuning of lofts/lies locally as opposed to returning to factory for adjustment.

Review Summary: These clubs are the 28 gauge of the golf world. Their actual performance far outpaces any pre-ordained evaluation metric such as the Maltby Playability Factor. I don't find handicap recommendations useful as low handicaps are usually about short game skills. That said, if you hit ten balls with a 6 iron and can cover 7 or 8 of the ball marks with a 50 cent piece, you can easily handle these clubs. While thin shots are penalized more than the TA7s of Pings, heel/toe mishits seem to be just as forgiving (if not more so) than the TA7s or Pings. Bottom line: If you're swing is fairly inconsistent or you prefer to the straight ball, there's probably a better set out there for you. If on the other hand, you're reasonably consistent, want decent forgiveness when banging straight away, and enjoy working the ball when it makes sense, then his is the set for you.

Purchase: I bought these because I wanted a less bulky iron than the Callway X-14s I had been playing, although I was a little scared of losing what forgiveness I THOUGHT I was getting. I purchased then at Golfdom Golf for $595.
Pros: I like everything about these irons. I immediately notice an improvement in accuracy, feel, control and even distance. The contact I now make is amazing. I am playing a different game now. I was curious how they compared side-by side with the X-14s so I did my own test. There is no comparison between the two. I felt like throwing the X-14s in the trash. My first experience at the range with a jumbo bucket: maybe 10 balls that I wasn't happy with, 98 that made me smile. I bet these will be a favorite of anyone that hits them. Do yourself a favor and give them a try.
Cons: Nothing.
Quality: The quality is tops. They look very simple, no thrills or gimmicks. I keep looking at them trying to find the secret. Very traditional looking and thin yet confident at the address. At much quality as the Cleveland wedges.
