On 2003-07-15, Tiger12be rated this Cleveland TA7 Graphite a 5...(1788)

Purchase: I bought these irons at Golf Discount for $649.00. I had purchased a set of Mizuno MP-30 irons and found that my game is not quite up to snuff with those forged irons (I play to a 12 handicap). I ended up trading them in on these new Clevelands. I also bought the Cleveland Launcher 400, Launcher Fairway 13*, and 588 56* SW.
Pros: The feel of these irons is incredible. They are very solid feeling and the ball flight is high. I am a bigger guy and pretty strong, but the D0 swingweight was perfect for me. I can really feel the clubhead throughout the swing. I had tried the steel shaft TA7's but found that I was hitting almost every shot off the toe area. I learned that the graphite shafts are a 1/2" longer (standard) than the steel, so it worked out perfectly for me.
Cons: I lost about 10 yards a club, however, the accuracy has MORE than made up for that (I had an eagle and 3 birdies in my first round with these!!) I wouldn't trade these for anything. I even went out and bought the 2 iron and dual wedge to match the set. The only other 'gripe' I have about these is the fact that they hit the ball a mile high! If you have trouble getting the ball up, these are DEFINITELY for you!
Quality: These irons are constructed very well. I keep all of my clubs with headcovers on them to protect them from bag wear.

Review Summary: Anyone from a 10-30 handicap will benefit from these irons. The next set that I buy will be the 'Tour' version because while I can work the ball with the ones I have, the Tour model has less offset which allows for better workability. I am now a Cleveland Golf fanatic...until further notice!
