Purchase: I realized after many years of frustration in my wedge play that the out-of-the-box wedges that came with my Callaway irons were very limited. I wanted a PW that allowed me to get close on the green from 120-125 yards out consistently. I purchased a 45 degree wedge for 99.99 from "ClickandSaveGolf". The wedge retails for $129.
Pros: It has a very soft feel and the ball travels a consistent distance each time I take a full swing. It has a "heavy" feel which allows a lot of confidence out of mid to heavy rough. I can even chip around the green with it in situations that demand a little finesse to get the ball to stop near the hole.
Cons: It took a little while to get used to, given that this is a forged club regularly used by professionals and my irons are much more forgiving Callaway X-14's. But anyone can hit this wedge if he or she just takes some time to set up well to the ball and make a good swing down and through. In fact, the overall feel and results are much more satisfying than hitting with perimeter weighted cavity back clubs. This wedge makes me fell that I am really playing golf when I hit it cleanly. Another thing is that, if you play a soft cover ball this wedge will "shave" it. However, I could care less about that when I see a ball back up near the hole, or stop dead next to it.
Quality: Solid construction. What could be bad about it. Almost every tour pro carries or has carried a Cleveland wedge in his bag at one time or another. And unlike iron sets that the pros play, they really do play the exact same wedge.
Review Summary: Overall and great addition to my golf bag. I do not feel like I would enjoy playing without it.
