Purchase: Purchased this club at Golfer's Warehouse in Canton, Connecticut for $279.99. Heard and read great reviews of this club, so I decided to buy it in order to increase driving distance, accuracy, and take my game to the next level of breaking 80. I hit it solid in the store, and could not believe the sound when the ball was struck.
Pros: As it turned out, I like nothing about this club except maybe the color.
Cons: For starters the head is ridiculously large and very difficult to stomach at set up. Unlike some of today's other brand name oversize drivers, this head is long and wide as opposed to short and thick. I refer to this club as a watermelon on a stick. The stiff shaft is about as stiff as a wet noodle, and everytime I tee off it is pot luck where the ball will go. My game has taken a turn for the worse since I have been using this club; adding 10 to 15 strokes per round. I relate this to mental anguish from using sub-par equipment. Not to mention, the abnoxiously loud ringing noise at ball strike which sounded cool before I purchased the club. I agree with many writers though; the head cover is a pain to take on and off.
Quality: I feel this is a cheaply constructed club which is overpriced. The big head feels like tin and is just as light. The Golf Pride grip is pretty worn for only being used half a dozen times on the course. Maybe it was all those nights at the driving range trying to hit it straight and over 200 yards.
Review Summary: Back to hitting my Taylor Made Burner 9.5 degree straight and long enough. Looking to sell this club because I am not interested in trading in right now.
