On 2006-08-01, Uncle Milt rated this Cobra F-Speed a 5...(7322)

Details: Cobro F-Speed 9 Degree Stiff

Purchase: Paid $300 at Dick's Sporting Goods
Pros: Feel, sound and forgiveness. After your first round of play with this driver you'll find yourself looking forward to teeing it up. If you're a duffer like me you'll also find yourself in the unfamiliar position of having a second shot within 150 of the hole from the center of the fairway.
Cons: What's not to like. The only thing that I wonder about is that a club this forgiving might disguise some serious swing flaws. This may be the case since I continue to struggle with my irons but the end result is that I'm shooting lower scores and having more fun out there.
Quality: Solid.

Review Summary: Before buying this club I went to the range and tried every other club in the price range and nothing else performed as well for me. The sound takes getting used to but the club is a great value.

On 2006-06-19, Ross M. rated this Cobra F-Speed a 4...(7145)

Details: 10.5* Stiff

Purchase: I bought this club from my local proshop, they were able to beat all the large sporting goods stores and the golf speacialty stores. I paid $260.00 for the club. I tried this club at a demo day, the club felt solid and I seemed to be gaining 15-20 yards compared to my existing Adams 363 GT. I'd been playing my Adams driver for 3 years and decided to get a new one and liked the Cobra F-speed the best.
Pros: The club is very attractive and inspires confidence at address. The shaft weighs only 55 grams and the club in general feels very light but sturdy. The face of the club is huge and even mishits out toward the toe still go 250-260 yards.
Cons: The stock grip feels too small, I feel like I have to squeeze the club too much to feel like I have control. I have held the grip of a Cobra 454 Comp along with this one and the 454 feels noticably larger and fit my hands better.
Quality: Seems like a quality club, I've only got one round with it along with a few range balls so we'll see about durability. If it's as durable as Cobra SZ fairway woods I play, I'll be happy.

Review Summary: Cobra is a top notch company owned by Acushnet who also owns Titleist, so you know you're going to get quality. In my opinion their pricing is lower than the other clubs I would categorize them with, which is a very big reason why I buy them. The club is very forgiving and the easier and smoother you swing the further it seems to go.

Details: Stock Aldila NV-65 Shaft, 9 degree.

Purchase: Purchased the club at Roger Dunn for $300
Pros: This club is really nice. Has a great weight and feel to it. The head has a slight draw bias. It you have a tendency to hook the ball, either fix your swing, or don't buy this club. I have a natural fade (slice on a bad swing), so this club flies straight for me. VERY LONG. I've hit it over 300 yards a couple of times. Sounds like an Aluminum Baseball Bat when you get a hold of one.
Cons: No dislikes about this club. Great club.
Quality: Club is built with quality. Love the Aldila shaft. Nice High-Kick point which promotes a lower ball flight. Don't get me wrong though, this club gets up in the air.

Review Summary: If you have a tendency to fade or slice the ball, give this club a try. If you have a REALLY fast swing speed, they say to try the X-Speed driver. But, it has a square face, and not a draw bias. So it both a try if your swing speed it up there.
