On 2007-04-15, The hacker\'s shadow rated this Cobra F-Speed LD a 5...(7721)

Details: Aldila NV shaft, 55 gram, R-flex, loft 10.5

Purchase: Bought New on Ebay auction for $225
Pros: This is a very easy driver to hit. The drives are straight and long and almost all of them go right down the middle. The driver is fairly priced for the performance and technology that is provided and the quality of the product is excellent. Bottom line: A great value
Cons: I really think the loud sound at impact is a bit much. It sounds like no other driver and almost too metallic (like crushing a coke can).
Quality: The construction, finish, and quality of materials seems to be very good.

Review Summary: This driver is long. Its longer than the Cobra 414 Comp that I have been playing for the last 2 years and just as accurate. My typical game is considered 'boring' to many because I am a straight ball hitter and hit most of my fairways, but am usually 20 or sometimes 30 yards behind my partners. With this driver, I can now make the same swing and be right up next to them with the same swing and accuracy. I have tried hitting both draws and fades with this driver and found that its much harder to do than the Comp 414, but it can be done (I prefer hitting straight balls anyway). I selected this driver based on the fitting recommendations on the Cobra website. I first thought the 'R' flex would be too soft as I have an 'S' flex on my old Comp 414 with the Mitsubishi Rayon shaft, but found the NV is very low in torque and surprisingly stable and smooth for an R flex. I'm in the late 50s, have an average swing speed of 100-105 mph and typically hit my balls about 220-250. This is a perfect club to get back a few of those lost yards as you get a bit older.
