On 2006-09-16, Golfcrazy rated this Cobra 3100I/H a 5...(7419)

Details: Steel shaft, stiff flex

Purchase: I bought these clubs new on ebay for about $225 with shipping. I have now played 3 rounds and hit a couple of buckets of balls at the range with them. I was wanting a set of clubs that I could better utilize the long irons.
Pros: These came with a 4 thru PW plus a sandwedge. I was really just hoping for a set where I was more confident and successful with the the seven iron and six. As mentioned earlier, I would never even try a full 5 iron in the past and didn't carry a 4. That has all changed now. The short irons are great, but I've always had that, but with these, I actually look forward to hitting a 4 iron and have yet to hit a bad one. I never dreamed a club could make so much difference. Every club from the 4 iron down is just as easy to hit. The only thing that changes is the distance - what a concept! Everything gets up but nothing balloons - I love them all and highly recommend them. Some fairway woods will be coming out of my bag now and I'll be adding scoring clubs - wedges!
Cons: I haven't come up with any dislikes. Some people on here have stated they can't fade these. My natural shot is a little draw and these do that beautifully. If I miss, it goes straight and I can live with that.
Quality: Quality seems top notch. You still get feedback if you don't catch them just right, but it has been amazing to feel that I just missed it a little bit to look up and see it going and think, 'Hmmm, that's not so bad...'

Review Summary: If you struggle with mid to long irons - I highly recommend these. The short irons are great too, but I have always had that going for me so can't say these added anything there, but they certainly haven't hurt me. Cobra has got their new line out now so these are getting really reasonable and well worth the money! One final comment: Today's round was really windy and on a long par 3 I hit a 6 iron. I caught it good and knew it would hit the green about pin high. I was satisfied with that, knowing that with a 20 mph tail wind it would release way to the back or probably even roll off. It stopped less than a foot from where it landed. The only birdie of the day and I still can't believe it stuck like it did.
